is not in the best interests of the Department to establish a
camp, the following allowances may be paid:—

Married Workmen,
Unmarried Workmen,

" For the first two weeks’ absence s. d. s. d.

" Provided that a workman in charge of a party may be
paid ls. per diem in addition after the first two weeks.
" (6) While travelling from and to headquarters workmen
shall be paid travelling-allowances as provided in regula-
tion 67.
" (7) The allowances provided under clause (1) and clause
(5) hereof may be increased or reduced according to circum-
stances and on the authority of the Permanent Head.
" (8) For the purposes of this regulation the term ‘work-
man’ shall include all employees of the engineering staff,
skilled or unskilled, other than officers graded in the Clerical
and Engineering Divisions."

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the Borough of New
Plymouth of a Width of less than 66 ft., but not less than 40 ft.,
subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 30th day of
January, 1931.

THE RIGHT HON. G. W. FORBES, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the
Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Public Works
Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in
this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby authorize the New Plymouth Borough Council to
permit the laying-off of the proposed street (described in the
Schedule hereto) of a width of less than sixty-six feet, but not
less than forty feet, subject to the condition that no building
or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land
fronting the said street within a distance of thirty-three feet
from the centre-line of the said street.

SCHEDULE.
THAT proposed street in the Taranaki Land District,
Borough of New Plymouth, containing by admeasurement
l rood 2·4 perches, more or less, being part Section 33, Fitzroy
District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the
plan marked P.W.D. 80504, deposited in the office of the
Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured
red.

Authorizing the Purchase by the Waimea Electric-power Board
of certain Electric Works, the Property of the Waimea Electric
Supply and Manufacturing Company, Ltd.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 30th day of
January, 1931.
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. G. W. FORBES, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section
seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925,
and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in that behalf,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
authorize the purchase by the Waimea Electric-power Board,
duly constituted under the provisions of the Electric-power
Boards Act, 1925, of the several electric works and under-
taking, the property of the Waimea Electric Supply and
Manufacturing Company, Limited, described in an agreement
dated the thirteenth day of December, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty, between the Waimea Electric -power
Board of the one part and the Waimea Electric Supply and
Manufacturing Company, Limited, of the other part, subject
to the condition that the terms of such purchase shall be those
set forth in the said agreement or such other terms as may
be approved by the Minister of Public Works.

Cambridge Fire District constituted.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 30th day of
January, 1931.
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. G. W. FORBES, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section three of the Fire Brigades Act,
1926 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is pro-
vided that the Governor-General may by Order in Council, on
the application of any Borough Council, declare the district
within the jurisdiction of such Borough Council to be a fire
district under the said Act:
And whereas an application has been made by the Cambridge
Borough Council in accordance with the provisions of the
said Act, and it appears expedient to grant the said ap-
plication:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said
Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare
the Borough of Cambridge to be a fire district under the said
Act as on and from the thirtieth day of January, one thousand
nine hundred and thirty-one.

Cancelling the Reservation over a Reserve in Block X, Tokatoka
Survey District, North Auckland Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 30th day of
January, 1931.
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. G. W. FORBES, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section
seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks
Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby cancel the reservation as a reserve for a site for
a post-office over the land described in the Schedule hereto;
and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in
the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the
Land Act, 1924.
