and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon
him by the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks
Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority enabling
him in this behalf, doth hereby amend the Schedule to the
said Order in Council dated the seventh day of April, one thou-
sand nine hundred and thirty, and hereinbefore referred to,
by substituting the description and area of the said section
as set forth in the Schedule hereto in lieu of the description
and area of the said section as set forth in the Schedule to
the said Order in Council dated the seventh day of April, one
thousand nine hundred and thirty.

SECTION 5, Block XI, Town of Taihape : Area, 1 rood
17 perches.

Cancelling the Reservation over Part of a Reserve in Whanga-
marino Parish, Auckland Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of
December, 1930.

Present:

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section
seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks
Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby cancel the reservation as a reserve for the Depart-
ment of Agriculture over the land described in the Schedule
hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being
vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under
the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 17 acres 2 roods 29 perches, more or less,
being portions of Allotments 342 and 343, Whangamarino
Parish; bounded towards the north-west by a public road;
towards the north-east by Allotment 344, Whangamarino
Parish ; towards the south-east by Waerenga Road,
Sections 71, 70, 69, 68, 67, and 59, Te Kauwhata Township,
and the extremity of Hori Street; again towards the north-
east by the aforesaid Hori Street; towards the south-east and
south-west by the North Island Main Trunk Railway; and
towards the north-west generally by other portions of Allot-
ments 342 and 343, Whangamarino Parish, to the place of
commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 1/849A, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and

Bringing certain Provisions of the Mining Act into Force within
a certain Part of New Zealand.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of
December, 1930.

Present:

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by section four hundred and fourteen, sub-
section one, of the Mining Act, 1926, it is provided
that the Governor-General, by Order in Council, may from
time to time declare that any of the provisions of the Mining
Act, 1926, shall apply to prospecting and mining for and the
storage of petroleum and other mineral oils and of natural
gas, and also define the districts within which any such Order
in Council shall take effect:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred on him by the said section four
hundred and fourteen, subsection one, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the provisions
of the Mining Act, 1926, set out in the First Schedule hereto
shall apply to prospecting and mining for and the storage
of petroleum and other mineral oils and of natural gas within
the district described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Whangamarino
Parish, Auckland Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of
December, 1930.

Present:

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms portion of a reserve duly set apart for the
Department of Agriculture:

And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reser-
vation over such land shall be changed to a reserve for
recreation purposes:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon
him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby
declare that the purpose of the reservation over the land
described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a
reserve for the Department of Agriculture to a reserve for
recreation purposes.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 7 acres 3 roods 26·8 perches, more or less,
being Allotment 548, Whangamarino Parish (formerly portions
of Allotments 342 and 343, Whangamarino Parish): Bounded
towards the north-west by a public road, 1044·02 links;
towards the east by portions Allotments 343 and 342, Whanga-
marino Parish, 1527·4 links ; towards the south-east by a
public road, 200 links; and towards the south-west by the
North Island Main Trunk Railway, 1273·09 links : be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/849B,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland
