Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 31st January, 1930.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Rotorua Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF ROTORUA.

Street-surfacing Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Rotorua taken on the 23rd day of December, 1929, on the proposal of the Rotorua Borough Council to borrow the sum of £10,700 for bitumenizing portions of certain streets and the laying of certain footpaths in permanent materials, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 74; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 63.

I hereby declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Waipa County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Te Rore Special-rating Area taken on the 21st day of January, 1930, on the proposal of the Waipa County Council to borrow the sum of £4,700 for the purpose of constructing waterworks for the supply of water in the Te Rore Special-rating Area, including all engineering and survey charges, and the cost of land, easements, machinery, plant, material, and labour, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 48; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Coromandel County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

COUNTY OF COROMANDEL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mercury Bay Wharf Loan (1929) Special-rating Area of the County of Coromandel, taken on the 14th day of December, 1929, on the proposal to raise a loan of £2,000 for erecting a wharf at Mercury Bay, the number of votes recorded was: For the proposal, 105; against the proposal, 11.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Runanga, the County of Grey, and the Cobden Riding of the County of Grey.

Wellington, 28th January, 1930.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the Borough of Runanga are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by Proclamation dated the 26th day of November, 1929, made under the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1928, and published in Gazette No. 80 of the 28th day of November, 1929.

And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the County of Grey affected by the said Proclamation dated the 26th day of November, 1929, are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

And in further pursuance of the provisions of the said section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the Cobden Riding of the County of Grey, affected by the said Proclamation dated the 26th day of November, 1929, are hereby defined as set out in the Third Schedule hereto.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

Boundaries of the Borough of Runanga.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, bounded on the north generally by the left bank of Seven-mile Creek from a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section No. 4, Block III, Cobden Survey District, to a point bearing 25° from Trig. Station A; thence along a right line passing through Trig. Station A to the right bank of Coal Creek; thence by the right bank of Coal Creek to a point in line with the western boundary of Section No. 224, Block III aforesaid; thence to and along that boundary and the eastern side of the Cobden–Seven-mile Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section No. 9, Block II, Cobden Survey District; thence across the said road to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 9 aforesaid; thence along the northern boundary of that section for a distance of 608 links; thence along a line bearing 14° 49′, distance 1995 links; along the western side of a public road to the southern boundary of Section No. 11, Block II aforesaid; thence along the southern boundary of Section No. 11 aforesaid to the western side of the Cobden–Seven-mile Road; thence northerly along the western side of that road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 4, Block III, Cobden Survey District; thence to and along that boundary and its production to the left bank of Seven-mile Creek, the point of commencement.


SECOND SCHEDULE.

Boundaries of the County of Grey.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Punakaiki River; thence up the middle of that river to its source, and by a right line to the summit of the Paparoa Range; thence northerly along the range, passing through Mount Pecksniff to Mount Faraday; thence along a right line to the source of the Otututu River; thence down the middle of that river to its confluence with the Grey River; thence up the middle of the Grey River to its confluence with Snow Creek; thence along a right line to the summit of Mount Haast; thence south-easterly along the watershed between the Maruia and Grey Rivers to the summit of the Southern Alps; thence south-westerly along the summit of the range to the saddle between the Hurunui and Taramakau Rivers; thence down the middle of the Taramakau River to the sea, and by the sea to the mouth of the Punakaiki River, the place of commencement; excluding therefrom the Boroughs of Greymouth, Brunner, and Runanga, and the Town District of Cobden.


THIRD SCHEDULE.

Boundaries of Cobden Riding.—County of Grey.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, bounded on the north-east generally by the county boundary from the mouth of the Punakaiki River to the summit of the Paparoa Range; thence along a right line to Trig. Station L; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along the watershed, passing through Trig. Stations R, G, and NN to the north-eastern corner of the Runanga Borough at Trig. Station A; thence along the northern, western, and southern boundaries of the Borough of Runanga, hereinbefore described, to a point in line with the middle of the road forming the western boundary of E.R. 167, Block V, Cobden Survey District; thence to and along that road to the right bank of the Grey River; thence down the right bank of the Grey River to the sea, and by the sea to the mouth of the Punakaiki River, the place of commencement.
