HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint, in terms of section 46 (1) of the Canterbury College and Canterbury Agricultural College Act, 1896, as amended by paragraph (b) of section 4 of the Canterbury College and Canterbury Agricultural College Amendment Act, 1927—

William Osborne Rennie, Esquire,

as a member of the Board of Governors of the Canterbury Agricultural College, to hold office for a term of three years, commencing as on the 1st day of January, 1930.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed.

NOTICE.

WILLIAM HENRY ORD, Esquire, of Gateshead, Durham, England, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature, has this day been appointed by the Honourable Sir Michael Myers, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in England under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

to be a Nautical Surveyor of Ships and Inspector of Ships’ Compasses for the purposes of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, as from the 31st day of December, 1929.

to be Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Wellington for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, and Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, as from the 23rd day of January, 1930.

Colonel T. A. Hunter, O.B.E., N.Z. Dental Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Director of Dental Services. Dated 2nd January, 1930.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. M. Rishworth, M.B.F., N.Z. Dental Corps, is appointed Director of Dental Services. Dated 3rd January, 1930.

Captain A. W. Greville, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Weapon Training Instructor, Northern Command. Dated 1st December, 1929.

N.Z. STAFF CORPS.

Barton Wicksteed to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 30th January, 1930.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).

2nd Lieutenant H. Agmen-Smith is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 28th January, 1930.

THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.

Lieutenant W. C. Park (14th Prahram Regiment, Australian Military Forces) is attached to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st September, 1929.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

Honorary Lieutenant and Bandmaster B. J. Shardlow to be Honorary Captain and Bandmaster. Dated 1st December, 1929.

THE WELLINGTON WEST COAST REGIMENT.

Lieutenant A. A. West, 4th C Battalion, is transferred to the Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Dated 23rd December, 1929.

THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant A. A. West, from the Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 23rd December, 1929.

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant A. J. Breach, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 24th September, 1926, next below Lieutenant F. L. Simson, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 21st September, 1929.

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.

Lieutenant E. G. Gedge, 1st Battalion, is posted to the Southern Artillery Group (Waitaki Artillery Section). Dated 19th December, 1929.

N.Z. AIR FORCE.

Edward George Olson to be Flying Officer. Dated 10th January, 1930.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

Major A. N. McKelvey, L.L., M.R.C.S., Ire., relinquishes command of the Northern Depot, N.Z.M.C., and is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 18th January, 1930.

Major H. L. Gould is appointed to command the Northern Depot, N.Z.M.C. Dated 19th January, 1929.

N.Z. DENTAL CORPS.

Lieutenant-Colonel T. A. Hunter, O.B.E., to be Colonel. Dated 1st January, 1930.
