Allotments 8 and 9: Altitude, 100 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Open undulating country, covered with scrubby tea-tree and gorse in patches. Soil is of brown loam and pipe-clay resting on sandstone formation, poorly watered by swampy gullies.

Allotments 10, 11, and N.W. 12: Altitude, 100 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Open undulating country, covered with scrubby tea-tree. All ploughable. Gullies are badly potted. Soil is of brown loam resting on clay formation. Poorly watered by swampy gullies.

Allotments N. 53 and 54: Altitude, 150 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, mostly all ploughable. Burned nearly clean. Potholed in gullies. Gorse in patches. Soil is brown loam and pipe-clay resting on clay formation. Poorly watered by swampy gullies.

Opening Lands in the North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.


CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.


SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Mangonui County.—Mangataniwha Survey District.

SECTION 2, Block VII: Area, 380 acres 2 roods 10 perches. Capital value, £475. Deposit on deferred payments, £25; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £14 12s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £9 10s.

Section is situated on the Main Peria—Wainui—Mangamuka Highway, which is now formed, preparatory to metalling. Access is from Mangamuka or Peria, which are about seven miles distant, nine miles to the Oruru Dairy Factory, and about two miles from Tekora Post-office and school. Undulating land. About 100 acres standing bush, 20 acres tea-tree; remainder in grass and fern. Clay soil resting on sandstone formation. Bush is mixed, and comprises a few rimu and dead kauri, toraire, karaka, and a little puriri. Section is well watered by running streams. Altitude ranges from 500 ft. to 700 ft. above sea-level.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the nineteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said land shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto,

Situated about four miles from Opoutama Post-office and store by beach road, thirty-five miles from Wairoa, and fifty-one miles from Gisborne. Mostly flat land, infested with blackberry. Suitable for beach cottage-sites, as the sections are adjacent to the ocean beach.
