NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the members of the above-mentioned company will be held in my offices, Imperial Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland, at 10 o’clock a.m. on the 24th day of November, 1930, to receive the Liquidators final account and report.

MANAWATU DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
——
Taonui Basin Loan, 1930, £1,250.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by subsection (e) of section 17 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Manawatu Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Manawatu Drainage Board Taonui Basin Loan of £1,250, 1930, authorized to be raised by the Manawatu Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving the drainage of the Taonui Basin, mainly the enlarging of Burke’s and Main Drains, the said Manawatu Drainage Board hereby makes and levies special differential rates on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) as under:—

On lands classified “A,” a special rate of one-fifth (1/5th) of a penny in the pound sterling;

On lands classified “B,” a special rate of three twenty-fifths (3/25ths) of a penny in the pound sterling,

of all rateable property within the Taonui Basin Special-rating district, comprising the following area:—

Commencing at junction of Oroua River and Foxton Line, and proceeding in a northerly direction generally along eastern bank of said river to junction with northern boundary of Section 1, Aorangi No. 2; thence in an easterly direction by the said boundary to western boundary of Lot 7, Section 2, of Aorangi No. 2; thence in a north-easterly direction by said boundary to junction with Lockwood Road; thence across road and in a westerly and northerly direction generally by said road to northern boundary of part Section 6, Block XII, Te Kawau Survey District; thence in an easterly direction by said boundary and northern boundary of Section 12 and Section 17 to junction with Boundary Drain; thence by said drain in a southerly direction to junction with Kairanga–Bunnythorpe Road; thence across road and in a north and easterly direction by said road and Karere Road to junction with eastern boundary to Section 1598; thence in a southerly and westerly direction by boundaries of said section to junction with Boundary Drain; thence in a southerly direction by said drain to junction with Section 1598; thence in a south-easterly direction by northern boundary of said section to junction with No. 1 Line; thence in a south and westerly direction by said road and Jackeytown Extension Road to Foxton; thence in a south-westerly direction generally by said road to junction with Oroua River, being point of commencement.

And that such special differential rates shall be annually recurring rates during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years from the first day of December, 1930, and be payable early on the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
——
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Marton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Marton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purposes of constructing duplicate pipes between the reservoir and filter station and providing two (2) additional filters and incidentals thereto, the said Marton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 11/32d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (calculated upon the unimproved value) of all the rateable property in the Borough of Marton, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-four years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
——
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, and their amendments, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for the purposes hereafter mentioned at Constable street and Riddiford street, in the City of Wellington—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the First and Second Schedules hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
(Comprising land required for street purposes.)

All that piece of land, containing 0·65 perches, being part Lot 1 on deposited plan No. 4990, part Section 819; coloured yellow on the said plan. All that piece of land containing 8·12 perches, being part Lot 1 on deposited plan No. 349, part Section 787; coloured red on the said plan (subject to an agreement to lease from the Public Trustee to L. Evans and Co., Ltd.). And that piece of land, containing 0·26 perches, being part of Lot 2 on deposited plan No. 349, part Section 787; coloured blue on the said plan (subject to lease registered No. 18161, dated the 9th day of April, 1929, from Thomas James Wilson to William Green.) All the said pieces of land being situate in the City of Wellington.

(Comprising land required in connection with street-widening.)

All that piece of land situated in the City of Wellington, containing 13 perches, being part of Lot 2 on deposited plan No. 349, part Section 787; coloured sepia on the said plan (subject to the said lease No. 18161); and all that piece of land, situated as aforesaid, containing 6·85 perches, being
