Invercargill City Council : Cancelling unexercised Balance of
Loan Authority.
In the matter of Section 118 of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1926.
WHEREAS the Invercargill City Council has been duly
authorized to borrow by way of loan the sum of
£25,000 for additions and improvements to tramways, and
the consent of the Governor-General in Council thereto
was given by Order in Council made on the 20th day of March,
1922, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 23rd
idem at page 720:
And whereas in respect of the said sum of £25,000 there has
been raised and borrowed for the purposes aforesaid the sum
of £1,000:
And whereas it has not been found necessary to borrow the
whole of the amount so authorized:
And whereas the Acting Minister of Finance has duly
notified the Invercargill City Council in writing of his intention
to cancel the loan authority in so far as it has not been
exercised:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf
conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1926, and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling,
I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Acting Minister of Finance, do
hereby cancel the authority of the Invercargill City Council
to borrow, under the loan authority hereinbefore referred to,
the sum of £24,000, being the amount in respect of which the
said loan authority has not been exercised : Provided always
that this cancellation is without prejudice to the validity in
all respects of the loan of £1,000 already borrowed pursuant
to the said loan authority.

Pastoral Land in the Southland Land District liable to
Forfeiture.
NOTICE is hereby given to the licensee of Pastoral Run
539, Lords River Survey District, Stewart Island
County, that the Land Board has resolved, in accordance
with the provisions of Section 265, Land Act, 1924, that by
reason of the failure of the licensee to pay rents and penalties
amounting to £2 15s. within one month after such payments
fell due, the license is liable to forfeiture, and if the said rents,
together with the full amount of the penalties, are not paid
within three months after the date of insertion of this notice,
the Land Board will declare his license forfeited.
