Notice as to an Area in Otago Land District declared to be a Fire District.
State Forest Service,
Wellington, 11th November, 1930.
PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921-22,
and section 6 of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925,
I do hereby notify that, on the recommendation of the
Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district,
the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared
by me to be a fire district, and I do further specify the period
from the 1st day of November in any year to the 31st day of
March in the following year, inclusive, as the period during
which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said
district, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest
Officer, to set on fire, or cause to be set on fire any timber
(whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris
from forest operations, or any land-clearing operations, or
grass or other specially inflammable material, without taking
such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.-SOUTHLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION
REGION.
Dunedin Forest Fire District.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing
approximately 31,000 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks
II, III, and X, Silverpeak Survey District, Blocks III, VIII,
and XII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, Blocks
III, IV, V, and XI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District,
Wakari Survey District, and Blocks XIII and XIV, East
Taieri Survey District, and bounded as follows : Commencing
at Trig. F. (Mt. Allan), Silverpeak Survey District; thence
proceeding generally eastward along the southern boundary
of Block V, Silverpeak Survey District, and the western and
southern boundaries of Block XI, Waikouaiti Survey District ;
thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary
of a road which forms the north-western boundaries of Sections
2 and 1, Block II, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District,
and the continuation of the said road in a westerly direction;
thence by a road which runs generally in a south-easterly
direction through Sections 30, 28, 27, and 31, Block III,
North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence
along the southern boundary of Section 13, the western
and south-western boundaries of Section 7, and the western
and southern boundaries of Section 10, all of Block III, North
Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence along the
western boundaries of Allotments 29, 30, 31, and 32, Mount
Cargill Estate, Block XII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey
District, and the southern boundary of Allotment 32 aforesaid;
thence along a road-line and the western boundaries of
Allotments 34 and 43, Mount Cargill Estate aforesaid, to and
across a road-line; thence along the south-western side of
the said road-line to the north-western corner of Allotment
49, Mount Cargill Estate aforesaid; thence along the western
boundary of the said Allotment 49 and the southern boundaries
of the said Allotment 49 and Section 23, Block XII, North
Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence along the
western boundaries of Sections 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32,
33, and 34, Block VII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey
District, the northern boundaries of Sections 48 and 46, Block
VIII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, and the
north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Section 61,
Block VIII aforesaid; thence along the north-western boundary
of Block XI, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey
District, to and across the Water of Leith; thence in a
south-westerly direction by the right bank of the Water of
Leith to its intersection with the north-eastern boundary
of Block VIII, Upper Kaikorai Survey District; thence
generally in a westerly direction along the boundaries of
Blocks VIII and XI, Upper Kaikorai Survey District; thence
along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 98 and 69,
Wakari Survey District; thence along the southern boundaries
of Wakari and North Taieri Roads to the eastern boundary
of Section 4, Block IV, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey
District; thence across the North Taieri Road and along
the northern boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block VI,
Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence along the
north-eastern boundary of Sections 1 and 7, Block XIII,
East Taieri Survey District, to and across a road which
intersects Sections 7 and 8, Block XIII, East Taieri Survey
District; thence along the north-eastern side of the said
road to the Silver Stream; thence in a northerly direction along
the left bank of the Silver Stream; thence in a north-westerly
direction along the north-eastern boundary of Section 30,
Block III, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, and
that boundary produced to the Silver Stream; thence along the
north-eastern boundary of Section 21, Block III, Dunedin and
East Taieri Survey District, and a road-line forming the
north-eastern boundaries of Sections 15, 14, and 13, Block
III, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence in a
westerly direction along the northern boundaries of Sections
13 and 8, Block III, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District ;
thence in a northerly direction along a road-line to Trig. L
(Boulder Hill); thence in a north-easterly direction along a
straight line from the said Trig. L. to Trig. F. (Mt. Allan),
the place of commencement. As the same is more particularly
delineated on plan No. 207/1, deposited in the Head Office
of the State Forest Service, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block I, Waikouaiti Survey
District for Road and Quarry Purposes, respectively.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the
land described in the First Schedule hereto for the purposes
of a road, and the land described in the Second Schedule
hereto for the purposes of a quarry: And notice is hereby
further given that the plan of the land so required to be
taken is deposited in the post-office at Evansdale, and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth
the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty
days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington.
