Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Borough of Lower
Hutt.- (Notice No. Ag. 2932.)

THE following special order made by the Lower Hutt
Borough Council on 22nd day of September, 1930,
is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious
Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
by section 5 (c) of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, and of all
other Acts and powers (if any) it in that behalf enabling, the
Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves by way of
special order :-

That the following plants be and are hereby declared to be
noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act,
1928:-

Broom, fennel, gorse, and hemlock.

Handicraft Teachers' Certificate Examinations, 1930.

Education Department,
Wellington, 2nd October, 1930.

THE following lists contain the results of the examinations
held in August, 1930, for the purposes of handicraft
teachers' certificates. In the preparation of the lists con-
sideration has been given to candidates' successes at previous
examinations held by the Department.

The first list (I) contains the names of successful candidates
for the handicraft teachers' certificate examination. Certi-
ficates will be issued to such of those as have produced
satisfactory evidence of age and good character, have passed
the special medical examination required, and have fulfilled
the necessary conditions as to length of service and efficiency
in teaching.

The second list (II) gives the names of those who have
gained passes or partial passes in one or more sections of the
examination.

The next examination will take place in August, 1931.
Notice must be sent to the Director of Education so as to
reach him not later than the 31st May, 1931. Candidates who
have yet to complete the examination must observe this rule
equally with other candidates, and must not expect to receive
any further information of the date at which the notices become
due.

Notice to make Returns of Income under the Land and Income
Tax Act, 1923, and Amendments.

Wellington, 9th October, 1930.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the above
Act and the regulations made thereunder, every
person and company, whether a taxpayer or not, having
derived income during the year ended 31st March, 1930,
from the use or occupation of lands used for agricultural
or pastoral purposes, if the total unimproved value of all
estates or interests in such lands used or occupied by such
person or company at any one time during the income year
was not less than seven thousand five hundred pounds (and
not coming within the terms of the notice given in the form
numbered 5 set out in the Schedule to the regulations made
under the said Act on the 14th day of April, 1930) is hereby
required to make and furnish to me returns of such income
on or before the 31st October, 1930; and, further, notice
is hereby given that such returns shall in all cases be delivered
at or forwarded to the Office of the Commissioner of Taxes
in the Government Buildings, at Wellington.
