Pursuant to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned,
Frederick William Wilson, of Omakau, Farmer, hereby
applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the
Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been fully marked
out for the purpose.

and running in a south-easterly direction for 1½ miles, and
terminating in Section 2a, Block III, Lauder Survey District.
Length and intended course of race: 1½ miles south-
easterly.
Points of intake: One.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Already con-
structed.
Mean depth and breadth: 2 ft. by 1 ft.
Number of heads to be diverted: Two.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation.
Proposed term of license: Twenty-one years.

Notice is hereby given that the following extraordinary
resolution has been passed by the shareholders :
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the share-
holders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities,
continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the
same, and accordingly that the company be wound up volun-
tarily, and that JOHN MACFARLANE ELLIFFE, Public
Accountant, Auckland, of the firm of Hutchison, Elliffe, and
Cameron, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator.”
All creditors having claims against the company are re-
quested to send in their claims not later than Saturday, 11th
October, 1930.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL.
THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928.
Public notice is hereby given that the Body Corporate
called The Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the
City of Auckland, intends to take, under the provisions of
the Public Works Act, 1928, the piece of land described in
the Schedule hereto for the purpose of a public work—viz.,
the provision of a public recreation-ground, and that a plan
of the land proposed to be taken is deposited in the office of
the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland, and
may be inspected there (without fee) during office hours:
And further notice is hereby given that unless, within forty
days from the fifteenth day of September, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty, being the date of the first publication of
this notice, any written objection to the taking of such land
is sent to the Town Clerk, Auckland City Council, the said
Auckland City Council shall forthwith proceed to take the
said land for such public work.

WAIRARAPA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Copy of a Resolution passed at a meeting of the Wairarapa
Electric-power Board held on Tuesday, the 9th September,
1930.
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairarapa
Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:-
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £9,400,
authorized to be raised by the Wairarapa Electric-power
Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
repaying the balance of a special loan of £10,000 (ten thousand
pounds) borrowed by the said Board for the purpose of
financing intending consumers of electric energy in the
Wairarapa Electric-power District and to provide for stock
of motors, fittings, and electrical appliances, with the necessary
land, buildings, and storage accommodation over and above
the amount of accrued sinking funds, the said Wairarapa
Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate
of 1/32nd of a penny (one thirty-second of a penny) in the
pound sterling on the rateable value, on the basis of the
capital value, of all rateable property in the Wairarapa
Electric-power District, as defined in the First Schedule of
the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in
the New Zealand Gazette of the 25th day of March, 1920; and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of the said loan, and be payable yearly on the
first day of October in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of seven years, or until the loan
is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the resolution as set out above was
duly passed at a meeting of the Board held on the 9th day
of September, 1930.
