IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of ROBINSON’S MOTOR-CYCLE AND BICYCLE DEPOT, LTD.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to subsection (7) of section 168 of the Companies Act, 1908, the following resolution has been passed as an extraordinary general resolution :—

“That it is desirable to reconstruct the company, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that ROBERT ARTHUR SPINLEY, of Auckland, Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

In the matter of R. JAFFE, LTD., a company duly incorporated under the Companies Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that on Tuesday, 2nd September, 1930, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed by the company :—

“That it being proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, it is hereby resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. I. MELTZER, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator.”

OHAI RAILWAY BOARD.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Ohai Railway Board proposes, under the provisions of the Local Railways Act, 1914, and the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—namely, a deviation of the Board’s line—and that for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said lands is deposited at the office of the said Board at Wairio, and is there open to public inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said lands should, if they have any well-grounded objection to the same, set forth such objection in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the 4th day of September, 1930, being the date of the first publication of this notice, addressed to “The Clerk, the Ohai Railway Board, Wairio.”

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary meeting of the members of the above-named company, duly convened and held at the Chamber of Commerce, Swanson Street, Auckland, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of September, 1930, the following resolution was duly passed :—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

At the said meeting JOHN GRIERSON, of Auckland, Public Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

THE PORT CHALMERS BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Port Chalmers Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,100, authorized to be raised by the Port Chalmers Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of paying off a waterworks loan of £2,500, maturing on the 9th day of July, 1930, the balance of that loan—namely, £1,400—having been otherwise provided for, the said Port Chalmers Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one farthing (1¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Port Chalmers, exclusive of Mansford Town and Reynolds Town, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable annually on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirteen years, or until the said loan is fully paid off.

APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE FOR A DRY-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Cromwell.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned, George Scott, of Lowburn, Farmer, hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for : 2 p.m., 1/9/30.

Date and number of miner’s right : 1/9/30 ; No. 24283.

Address for service : Brodrick and Parcell, Solicitors, Cromwell.

Dated at Cromwell, this 2nd day of September, 1930.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points : Commencing in applicant’s freehold Section 53, Block III, District of Cromwell, on the north-eastern side ; thence running in a south-westerly direction going through Thomas’s freehold 300 yards ; thence back into applicant’s freehold and terminating on western boundary of applicant’s freehold.

Length and intended course of race : 300 yds. ; south-west from north-east.

Points of intake : One in applicant’s freehold.

Estimated time and cost of construction : 1 week ; £10.

Mean depth and breadth : 12 in. by 18 in.

Number of heads to be diverted : Two.

Purpose for which water is to be used : Irrigation.

Proposed term of license : Twenty-one years.
