Notifying Land in the Auckland Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

P URSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I hereby notify that the undermentioned land, being the land known as Bushmere Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said Act as from 25th June, 1930.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—BUSHMERE SETTLEMENT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 423 acres 2 roods 39 perches, more or less, being part Lot 2 on plan 6566, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, and situated in Block XV, Hapuakohe Survey District, and Block III, Komakorau Survey District: Bounded towards the north-west by a public road, 1846·1, 591·8, 459·6, 940·3, and 1371·8 links ; towards the north-east by Lot 3 on plan 6566, deposited as aforesaid, 3923·3 and 3929·9 links; towards the south-east by part Lot 2 on plan 6566, deposited as aforesaid, 6030·3 links ; and towards the south-west by Lot 1 on plan 6566, deposited as aforesaid, 5885·4 and 3207·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/312/52, deposited under No. 2422 in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

ALTERATION AND RECONSTITUTION OF LOCAL DISTRICTS.

WHEREAS by section 2 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, it is enacted that the Public Trustee may, by notice in the Gazette, from time to time establish and define, abolish, alter, and reconstitute local districts for the purposes of the said Act:

And whereas, in pursuance of the said power, a notice establishing and defining the local districts to be controlled by the several District Public Trustees as set out therein was published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 13th April, 1922 : And whereas further notices in pursuance of the said power were published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 10th August, 1922, the 3rd April, 1924, the 19th November, 1925, the 20th June, 1929, and the 5th September, 1929 :

And whereas it has become expedient to define and re- constitute the local district controlled by the District Public Trustee at Napier, and to alter and reconstitute the local districts controlled respectively by the District Public Trustees at Wellington, Palmerston North, Wanganui, Auckland, and Hamilton:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the before- mentioned powers, I, John William Macdonald, the Public Trustee for the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby define, alter, and reconstitute the local districts controlled by the several District Public Trustees set out hereunder:—

LOCAL DISTRICT OF NAPIER.

The local district of Napier comprises all that area, com- prising the Boroughs of Napier and Wairoa and the Town District of Taradale, and those portions of the Counties of Wairoa, Taupo, and Hawke's Bay, bounded on the north by the northern boundary of the Wairoa County (but excluding that portion of the Wairoa County north and east of the Ruakituri River from where it crosses the Wairoa-Waikohu County boundary to its junction with the Hangaroa River, and north and west of the Hangaroa River from its junction with the Ruakituri River to where it crosses the Cook County boundary), and by a line drawn from the junction of the Wairoa, Whakatane, and Taupo Counties in a south-westerly direction to the mouth of the Tauranga-Taupo River, and on the west by a line extending from the mouth of the Tauranga-Taupo River along the said river and one of its tributaries to Ngapuke turua, and from thence along the summit of the Kaimanawa Mountains to where they cross the southern boundary of the Taupo County; thence along that boundary to its junction with the Hawke's Bay County; and thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary of the Hawke's Bay County to the Ngaruroro River; and thence

on the south along that river to its mouth, but including the Townships of Clive and West Clive.

The local district of Napier includes the District Office of Wairoa.

LOCAL DISTRICTS OF WELLINGTON, PALMERSTON NORTH, AND WANGANUI.

The following area has been removed from the control of the District Public Trustee at Wellington and placed under the control of the District Public Trustee at Palmerston North :— That portion of the Horowhenua County to the south of a line drawn through Shannon due east and west from the Manawatu County boundary to the Eketahuna County boundary.

The following area has been removed from the control of the District Public Trustee at Palmerston North and placed under the control of the District Public Trustee at Wanga- nui :— The County of Waimarino.

The local district of Palmerston North will now include the whole of the Horowhenua County and the District Office of Levin.

LOCAL DISTRICTS OF AUCKLAND AND HAMILTON.

The following area has been removed from the control of the District Public Trustee at Hamilton and placed under the control of the District Public Trustee at Auckland :— That portion of the Waikato and Raglan Counties bounded by a line extending along the whole of the southern boundary of the Franklin County down the west coast to the mouth of the Kawa Stream opposite Woodleigh; thence in a straight line through Rangiriri and Te Kauwhata to the junction of the Te Kauwhata-Thames road and the Morrinsville (Tahuna)-Auckland road; thence along the eastern boundary of the Waikato County to its junction with the Franklin County.

The district of Hamilton now includes the District Offices at Cambridge, Rotorua, and Taumarunui.

The District of Auckland now includes the District Office of Pukekohe.

NOTICE is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of section 188 (4) of the Mining Act, 1926, that, sufficient cause not having been shown to the contrary, the mining privileges mentioned in the Schedule hereunder have this day been struck off the Register.
