in Council, revoke the reservation over any public reserve or part thereof, and thereupon the land comprised therein shall, if vested in the Crown or in any local authority or trustees deriving title from the Crown, become Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for public recreation, but is not required for that purpose, and it is expedient to revoke the reservation over the said land:

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give notice, pursuant to subsection two of section seven of the said Act, that it is my intention to issue an Order in Council under the provisions of subsection one (b) of section seven of the said Act, declaring that the reservation for public recreation over the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be cancelled.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 13, Block V, Pukeokahu Survey District: Area, 18 acres.

Exempting Crown Lands from the Operation of the Mining Act, 1926.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section twenty of the Mining Act, 1926, it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, exempt any Crown lands from mining, or from any specified mining purpose, or from that Act or any specified provisions of that Act; and that the lands to which any such notice relates shall be specified therein by words of particular description:

And whereas it is desirable that the Crown land specified in the Schedule hereto shall be exempted from the Mining Act, 1926:

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Mining Act, 1926, aforementioned, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby exempt the land particularly described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of the Mining Act, 1926, and do also hereby declare that such exemption shall take effect from the date of the gazetting hereof.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 3 roods 38 perches, more or less, being Section 44 and part of Sections 37 and 54, Block II, Teviot Survey District: Bounded towards the north-east by Section 52 of aforesaid block, 940.7 links; towards the south-east by Section 56 of aforesaid block, 457.2 links; again towards the north-east by said Section 56, 1161.9 links, towards the east by the public road, 287 links; towards the south-west by a line bearing 287° 51', 2152.6 links; and towards the north-west by a public road, 694.5 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked N. 6/4/18, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Mines, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
