from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—
The Commissioner of Crown Lands, New Plymouth, ex officio,
Thomas Robert Etherington,
Douglas Alexander Onslow Higgie,
Foster Maurice Kelly,
William Sandison, and
George Woods,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board, by the name of the Waikaka Scenic Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Saturday, the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at two o’clock p.m., at the residence of Mr. W. Sandison, Waikaka Road, Matiere, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the second Saturday in each quarter at the time and place aforesaid, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman for such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.
WAIKAKA SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 101 acres, more or less, being Section 27, Block XV, Aria Survey District: Bounded towards the north-east by Section 21, Block XV, Aria Survey District, 1747·3 links; towards the south-east by Section 13, Block XV aforesaid, 2044·7 links, and Road Reserve, 2850 links; towards the south and south-west by Road Reserve, 1600 links; and towards the north-west by Road Reserve, 5700 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/552, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 5th day of September, 1930.

Declaring a Road-line adjoining Land in Te Wae Wae Settlement, Southland Land District, to be closed, and the Land comprised therein to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General, from which it appears that the road described in the Schedule hereto is unformed and unused, and that the said road is adjacent to land acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), and is not suitable to the subdivision of such land:
Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and six of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby close the road hereinafter described; and I do hereby declare that the land comprised in the said road shall thereupon become subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road to be closed: 1 acre 3 roods 38 perches.
Adjoining Sections 2 and 3, Block XV, Longwood Survey District.
In the Southland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/149/347, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, under No. 2418, and thereon coloured green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of September, 1930.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Otago Land District for Recreation Purposes.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for recreation purposes.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 32 acres 1 rood, more or less, being part of the Town Belt, Town of Clyde, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-west by Block I, Leaning Rock Survey District, 1371·2 links; by the crossing of a public street, 129·3 links; and again by Block I, 2055·1 links; towards the north-east by a public street, 993·6 links; towards the south-east by Sections 6 and 5, Block LI, Town of Clyde, 1685·5 links; by the crossing of a public street, 103 links; and by Section 1, Block L, 1099·5 links; towards the south-west by Farne Street, 125·9 links; again towards the south-east by Farne Street and Block XLVIII, 402 links; again towards the south-west by Crown land, 903 links.
Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 105 acres 0 roods 6 perches, more or less, being part of the Town Belt, Town of Clyde, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-west by Block I, Leaning Rock Survey District, 902·6 links; towards the north-east by Run 221g, 11650·5 links; towards the south-west and south-east by a Cemetery Reserve, 1613 links and 196 links; towards the south-west by Blocks XXXII, XXXIV, a public street, Sections 2 and 1, Block LIII, a public street, Sections 4, 3, 2, and 1, Block LII, Town of Clyde, 6505·4 links; towards the north-west and south-west by a public street, 100 links and 3866·7 links.
Also all that area in the Otago Land District containing by admeasurement 3 acres 0 roods 28 perches, more or less, being part of the Town Belt, Town of Clyde, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-east by Run 221g, Sections 8 and 9, Block I, Leaning Rock Survey District, 1197·5 links; towards the south-west by Hull Street, 1024·4 links; towards the north-west by a Cemetery Reserve, 620 links:
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are more particularly shown on the plan marked L. and S. 1/112A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
