Proclaiming Native Land to be vested in His Majesty under Section 368 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-eight of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided, inter alia, that the Crown may purchase any Native land in pursuance of a resolution of the assembled owners passed and confirmed in accordance with Part XVIII of the said Act, and on the resolution being adopted by the Native Land Purchase Board it shall become a contract of purchase as between the Crown and all persons who are the owners of the land; and the Governor-General may, by Proclamation, at any time after the contract of purchase has been so made, declare that the land so purchased is vested in His Majesty the King, and it shall vest accordingly and shall become Crown land:

And whereas resolutions were passed by meetings of assembled owners, and duly confirmed by the Waikato-Maniapoto District Maori Land Board, that the lands set out in the Schedule hereto be sold to the Crown by the respective owners:

And whereas the Native Land Purchase Board has adopted such resolutions:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and sixty-eight of the said Act, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands set out in the Schedule hereto are vested in His Majesty the King.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia, that on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, the Governor-General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become Crown land:

And whereas the purchase of the Native Land set out in the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, and its amendments:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has become Crown land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 8th day of September, 1930.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Customs Act, 1913 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Act”), and by the Customs Amendment Act, 1921, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the Customs (Tariff Preference and General) Regulations, 1925, published in the Gazette on the twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, at page 3265, to the extent set forth below, namely:—

By deleting from clause 4 (b) (i) of Form 3 and clause 7 (b) (i) of Form 4 in the Second Schedule thereto and from the Third Schedule thereto the words “Fibres, natural, animal, or vegetable, even though sorted, dressed, scoured, or similarly treated, including raw silk, organzine, and tram silk,” and by substituting therefor the following words:—

“Barium carbonate; barium sulphate.

“Earth colours, dry ground.

“Fibres, natural, animal, or vegetable, even though sorted, dressed, scoured, or similarly treated, including raw silk, organzine, tram silk, grege, poil, crepe, and grenadine, but not including schappe.

“Greenstone and precious stones cut and/or polished.

“Titanium oxide.”
