NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, and their amendments, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for street purposes at Moxham Avenue, in the City of Wellington—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Public Office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situated in the City of Wellington, containing two perches and sixty-seven one-hundredths of a perch (2·67p.), being part of Lot 70 on deposited plan No. 168, coloured red on the said plan; and all that piece of land, situate as aforesaid, containing twenty-three one-hundredths (0·23p.) of a perch, being part of Lots 70 and 71 on deposited plan No. 168, and coloured blue on the said plan.

TAURANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Whakamarama Road Loan, 1930, £1,500.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Tauranga County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one thousand five hundred pounds (£1,500), authorized to be raised by the Tauranga County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of metalling three miles of the Whakamarama Road from a point one mile from its junction with the main Tauranga-Waihi Main Highway, the said Tauranga County Council makes and levies a special rate of four pence (4d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, of all the rateable property within the Whakamarama Special-rating Area, comprising all that area of land commencing on the Tauranga County boundary-line at the north-western corner of Section 1 of Whakamarama, Block XI, Aongatete; thence following the said boundary-line in a southerly direction to the southern corner of Section 1 of Blocks II and IV, Opoutihi; thence along the southern boundary of said Section 1 to Section 3; thence following the western and southern boundary of said Section 3 to its eastern boundary to the north-eastern corner of the said section to the roadway; thence following the said road to the Ngamuawahine Stream; thence upwards along the said stream to the south-western corner of Waimanu No. 2A, and following the southern boundary to a point 25 chains beyond the Mahawata Secondary Trig. Station; thence northward to the south-eastern corner of Waimanu 1E; thence following the eastern boundary of said Section 1E to Section 71, and following the southern boundary of said Section 71; thence eastward 30 chains to Secondary Trig. Z; thence northward in a direct line to the south-western corner of Te Irihanga No. 2, and along the eastern boundaries of said Section No. 2 and Te Mahau 5604, Section 69 of Whakamarama and Oteora, Block XII, Tauranga Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Whakamarama No. 1, and the eastern and northern boundary of said Section No. 1 to the Te Puna River, and following to the Tauranga-Waihi Main Highway at the north-eastern corner of Section 42, Block VIII, Tauranga Survey District; thence along the said road to the western boundary of Section 43; thence along the northern boundaries of Sections 116D, 117, 118, 120, 125, 129, 130, 131, 132 of Blocks VIII, Tauranga, and IX, Aongatete; thence along the western boundary of said Section 132 and Sections 133, 134, and 136; thence following the northern boundaries of Whakamarama No. 1, Whakamarama No. 2A, and Lots 2, 2 and 1 of Whakamarama No. 2 back to the commencing-point; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until such loan is fully paid off.

FEILDING BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Feilding Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on a loan of £1,600, authorized to be raised by the said Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Public Works Act, 1928, for the purpose of paying the said Council’s share of the cost of building the Aorangi Street Bridge, the said Feilding Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 17/256ths (seventeen two-hundred-and-fifty-sixths) of one penny in the pound, upon the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, on the valuation roll of all rateable property in the Borough of Feilding, comprising the whole borough, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF CHRISTIAN NAMES.

I, THOMAS ALEXANDER GERRARD, of Dipton, Farmer, heretofore called and known by the name of “Colin James Gerrard,” hereby give notice that on the 15th day of August, 1930, I renounced and abandoned the use of my said Christian names of “Colin James,” and assumed in lieu thereof the Christian names of “Thomas Alexander”; and, further, that such change of name is evidenced by deed dated the 15th day of August, 1930, duly executed by me, and attested and enrolled in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District, at Invercargill, on the 16th day of August, 1930.
