Poll for Special Loan.
IN pursuance of the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll taken on Friday, the 8th day of August, 1930, for authority to raise a special loan known as “Reticulation Loan, 1930,” of £3,000 for the purpose of extending the reticulation in the Power Board’s area, the result was as follows:—
For the proposal, 157 votes; against the proposal, 2 votes. Majority in favour of the proposal, 155 votes.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Auckland Transport Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

AUCKLAND TRANSPORT BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Auckland Transport District was taken on Wednesday, the 6th day of August, 1930, on the proposal of the Auckland Transport Board to borrow the sum of £58,400 for the extension of the Auckland Electric Tramways from Mount Albert to Avondale and purchase of land and other works incidental thereto.
The number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows: Votes recorded for the proposal, 3,839; votes recorded against the proposal, 1,552; informal, 19.
I therefore declare that the foregoing proposal was carried.

MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD DISTRICT.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mount Roskill Road District, taken on the 6th day of August, 1930, on the proposal of the Mount Roskill Road Board to borrow the sum of £17,000 (seventeen thousand pounds) for the purpose of the concrete paving of the carriage-way of Three Kings Road for its full length, the formation of pathways and entrances into private property, the acquisition of land for road-widening purposes if and where required, and the laying of a water-main eight-inch diameter.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 907 (nine hundred and seven); the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 272 (two hundred and seventy-two); informal 3 (three).
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Minister of Lands, it is expedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Maitai-Moana, affecting parts of Sections 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, in Block IX, Cheviot Survey District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that the roads shown therein as Moody, Smith, and Farmer Streets, should be of the width of 66 ft.:
Now, therefore, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Minister of Lands, do hereby, in pursuance of the power conferred upon me by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the laying-off of such roads of a width of not less than 40 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such roads.
Given under my hand, this 18th day of August, 1930.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for H. E. Todd, Box 234, Haymarket P.O., Sydney.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.
