Trustees for Public Cemeteries appointed.—(H.O. 74).

Department of Health,
Wellington, 25th July, 1930.

His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance
of Section 4 of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, been pleased
to appoint Trustees for Public Cemeteries as follows :—

Alfred William James
to be trustee in place of James Samuel Allen, whose seat has
become vacant by resignation, to provide for the maintenance
and care of the Ormond Public Cemetery.

Arthur Makgill
to be trustee in place of James Deerness Chalmers, whose
seat has become vacant by death, to provide for the main-
tenance and care of the Waiuku Public Cemetery.

David Byres
to be a trustee in place of William Evans, whose seat has
become vacant by death, to provide for the maintenance and
care of the Timaru Public Cemetery.

Donald Roderick McKay
to be a trustee in place of John Alexander Morrison, whose
seat has become vacant by death, to provide for the main-
tenance and care of the Waipu Public Cemetery.

Alfred William Eden
to be a trustee in place of Frank Fowler, whose seat has
become vacant by death, to provide for the maintenance and
care of the Waimea South Public Cemetery.

Hugh White
to be a trustee in place of Mrs. Marion de Stacpoole, whose
seat has become vacant by resignation, to provide for the
maintenance and care of the Takapau Public Cemetery.

Walter George Russ
to be a trustee in place of George Russ, whose seat has become
vacant by resignation, to provide for the maintenance and
care of the Waimea West Public Cemetery.

Trevor Edward Harding Gravatt, and
Duncan Alexander Matheson,
to be trustees in place of Charles Septimus Clark and Archibald
McArthur Dunning, whose seats have become vacant by death,
to provide for the maintenance and care of the Leigh Public
Cemetery.

Arthur Barker Murray,
Alfred Charlton Powell,
Herbert Gainsboro Powell,

to be be trustees in place of Robert Henry Bowman, David

have become vacant by death, and Thomas John Bunkall,
Christopher Blucowe Dunn, Duncan Kerr Dysart, Tadi
Kunicich and James Austing Vercoe, whose seats have become
vacant by resignation, to provide for the maintenance and
care of the Kerekino Public Cemetery.

Appointment in the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve the following appointment in the New
Zealand Division of the Royal Navy:—

Commissioned Gunner Thomas Ernest Brooker, Royal
Navy, to H.M.S. “Philomel,” additional, to date 23rd
May, 1930, and for command of H.M.S. “Wakakura”
vice Edwards, from date of joining.

Deaths for the District of Raglan, and Registrar of Births
and Deaths of Maoris at Raglan, as from the 15th day of
July, 1930.

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of
Whakatane, at Taneatua, as from the 1st day of August, 1930.

Harold Leslie Moyle
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Horoera,
as from the 30th day of June, 1930.

Robert Stanley Parr
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Huiarau,
as from the 27th day of June, 1930.

Arthur King
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Oruanui,
as from the 23rd day of April, 1930.

Miss Phyllis Sarah Clemane
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Tangoio, as

to be Official Assignee at Dannevirke for the Supreme Court
District of Wellington for the purposes of the Bankruptcy

Extension of Colonial Probates Act, 1892, to Western Samoa.

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 27th day of
February, 1930.

Present:
THE KING'S MOST EXCELLENT MAJESTY IN COUNCIL.

Whereas Western Samoa is a territory in respect of
which a mandate on behalf of the League of Nations
has been accepted by His Majesty :
And whereas by Treaty, grant, usage, sufferance, and other
lawful means, His Majesty the King has jurisdiction in Western
Samoa:
And whereas His Majesty the King is satisfied that the
Legislature of Western Samoa has made adequate provision
for the recognition in Western Samoa of Probates and Letters
of Administration granted by the Courts of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland :
And whereas it is expedient that the Colonial Probates Act,
1892, should be extended to Western Samoa in accordance with
the provisions of the Foreign Jurisdiction Acts, 1890 and
1913:
Now, therefore, His Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of
all the powers enabling His Majesty in that behalf by the
Foreign Jurisdiction Acts, 1890 and 1913, or otherwise in
His Majesty vested, is pleased by and with the advice of His
Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
The Colonial Probates Act, 1892, shall from the date of
this Order apply to Western Samoa, as though that country
were a British Possession.
And the Right Honourable Sidney James, Baron Passfield,
His Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Dominion
Affairs, is to give the necessary directions herein accordingly.
