DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.
ALL those areas in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 9·8 perches and 1 rood 32·9 perches, more or less, being respectively Section 11, Block III, and Section 7, Block VI, Waipu Survey District. As the same are more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 16/1148D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North Auckland plan 22487.)
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 29 perches, more or less, being portion of Allotment 84, Parish of Waipu. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 16/1148D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged blue. Opening Land in North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, this is to say:—

The rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at the price specified in the said Schedule, and for the purposes of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Land Act, 1924, shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land.”

The said land may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.

No general rate shall be levied or collected by any local authority from the said land for a period of two years from the date from which such land is disposed of, and no local authority shall have power to levy or collect any such rate from such land during such period.

After the first half-year’s rent (or the deposit on deferred payments, as the case may be) has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent (or such parts of the instalments on deferred payments as consist of interest), payable by him for a period of two years shall not be demanded : Provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land, the rent or interest so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent or interest payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.

This land, known as the Omahuta Block, was formerly a State Forest Reserve. It is situated at the head of Hokianga Harbour. Access is from the Mangamuka-Kawakawa Main Highway by new road to be constructed from the Okaihau side of Taikawhana Post-office, about thirty miles distant from Okaihau Railway-station.
Sections 2 and 3 : 92 acres of easy undulating limestone country, of which 30 acres is flat, 123 acres of easy rolling fern land.
Sections 4 and 5 : 20 acres flat, 140 acres easy undulating to steep limestone country, 72 acres easy rolling fern land.
Sections 6 and 7 : 10 acres flat, 123 acres easy undulating to steep limestone land, 106 acres undulating fern land.
Sections 8 and 9 : 20 acres flat, 190 acres undulating to hilly limestone land, 80 acres rolling fern land.
Sections 10 and 11 : 10 acres flat, 96 acres undulating to steep limestone land, 108 acres easy rolling fern land.
Section 12 : 10 acres flat, 136 acres undulating to hilly limestone land, 60 acres easy fern land.
Section 13 : 185 acres undulating to hilly limestone land, 15 acres easy fern land.
Section 14 : 203 acres easy undulating to hilly limestone land, 25 acres easy fern land.
Section 15 : 186 acres easy undulating to hilly limestone land, 60 acres fern land.
Section 1, Block III : All easy undulating fern land with patches of bush in valleys; practically all ploughable.
All sections are well watered by running streams.
Soil on Sections 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 15 is heavy dark loam on limestone formation. Balance of block comprises fair quality clay resting on clay and sandstone.
All the limestone country is in heavy bush.

Polling-places for the Invercargill Electoral District appointed.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Electoral Act, 1927, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish all existing polling-places, and do hereby appoint the places mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be the polling-places in the said Electoral District of Invercargill.
