be raised by the Raglan County Council under the above-
mentioned Act for the purpose of forming and metalling
portions of the Matakilaki Road, in the Matakilaki No. 2
Special-rating Area of the County of Raglan, and with the
sanction of the Local Government Loans Board and the
consent of the Governor-General in Council had and obtained
and gazetted, the said Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of one penny in the pound sterling on the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property in the Matakilaki No. 2 Special-rating Area of the
county, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan (which is for a period of
twenty years, at a rate of interest of five pounds fifteen shillings
per centum per annum, together with an additional charge of
three pounds per centum per annum to provide the necessary
sinking fund), and be payable yearly on the first day of January
in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The boundaries of the Matakilaki No. 2 Special-rating Area
are as follows: Commencing at the north-west corner of
Section North 94 of Block III, Awaroa Survey District, and
thence running east, taking in one thousand acres of Section
92 and two hundred and fifty acres of Section 99, to the north-
west corner of Section 91; and thence following the northern
and eastern boundaries of Section 91 and the eastern boundary
of Section 118, to the south-eastern corner of Section 118;
and thence running west along the southern boundaries of
Sections 118, 100, 97, East 96, West 96, South 94 and 95, to
the south-west corner of Section 95; and thence along the
western and northern boundaries of Section 95 to the south-
west corner of Section North 94; and thence along the
western boundary of Section North 94 to the point of
commencement.

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the
Raglan County Council held on the 11th day of July, 1930.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and
Inhabitants of the County of Raglan was hereto affixed, by
order of the said Council, this 11th day of July, 1930, in the
presence of—

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the
matter of THE NATIONAL PORTLAND CEMENT COMPANY,
LIMITED, a company incorporated under the above-
mentioned Act, and having its registered office in the
City of Wellington.

THE creditors of the above-named company are required,
on or before the 30th day of August, 1930, to send
their names and addresses, and the particulars of their debts
or claims, and the names and addresses of their solicitors (if
any) to Samuel Tansley, the Official Liquidator of the said
company, whose office is at the A.M.P. Building, Customhouse
Quay, Wellington, and, if so required by notice in writing
from the said Official Liquidator, are, by their solicitors, to
come in and prove their said debts or claims, at the Registrar’s
Office, in the Supreme Courthouse at Wellington, at such time
as shall be specified in such notice, or, in default thereof, they
will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made
before such debts are proved.

Tuesday, the 30th day of September, 1930, at 10 o'clock in
the forenoon, at the Registrar's said office, is appointed for
hearing and adjudicating upon the debts and claims.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and
the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Napier Borough Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned
Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the con-
struction of a street—and for the purpose of such public work
the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to
be taken.

Notice is further given that a plan of the lands so required
to be taken is deposited in the Borough Council Chambers,
Tennyson Street, Napier, and is open for inspection by all
persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-
founded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said lands must set forth their objec-
tions in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the
Borough Council Chambers, Tennyson Street, Napier.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the
matter of BONA LEEDS, LIMITED.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named
company duly convened and held at Palmerston North
on Monday, the 7th day of July, 1930, the following extra-
ordinary resolution was duly passed, viz :-

"That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting
that the company cannot, by reason of its indebtedness,
continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up
voluntarily, and accordingly that the company be wound up
voluntarily, and that a Liquidator be appointed for the
purposes of the winding-up."

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Waipa County Council hereby resolves as follows :-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of four thousand seven hundred pounds
(£4,700), authorized to be raised by the Waipa County Council
under the above-mentioned Act for the purposes of construct-
ing waterworks for the supply of water in the Te Rore Special-
rating Area, including all engineering and survey charges, and
the cost of land, easements, machinery, plant, materials, and
labour, the said the Waipa County Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of twopence and one-eighth of a penny in
the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of
unimproved value) of all rateable property of the said the
Te Rore Special-rating Area, being all that area in the Manga-
piko Riding of the Waipa County bounded by a line
commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waipa River
in line with the north-western boundary of Allotment 5,
Parish of Ngaroto ; thence to and along that boundary to
the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the said
Allotment 5; thence across that road and south-easterly
along its north-eastern side to the north-western corner of
Allotment 11, Parish of Ngaroto; thence along the north-
western and north-eastern boundaries of Allotment 11 and
the north-western boundary of Allotment 14 to the road
forming the north-eastern boundary of the said Allotment 14,
Parish of Ngaroto; thence along the western side of that road
to a public road forming the northern boundary of Allotment
30; thence across that road and along the eastern and south-
eastern boundaries of Allotment 30 and the north-eastern
boundary of Allotment 35, Parish of Ngaroto, to the road
forming the southern boundary of the said Allotment 35;
thence across that road and along its southern side to the
north-eastern corner of Allotment 39; thence along the
eastern boundaries of Allotments 39, 40, and 41, Parish of
Ngaroto, and Lots 1 and 2 on a plan deposited in the Land
Transfer Office at Auckland as No. 23666 to the road forming
