At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of January, 1930.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby incorporate the members of the Te Puke Horticultural Society, and such persons as shall hereafter be admitted members of the said society agreeably to the rules of the said society and the provisions of the said Act, into a body corporate under the style and title of “The Te Puke Horticultural Society.”

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Owhango Public Hall and Library Board.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of January, 1930.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was by Warrant published in Gazette of the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and ten, permanently reserved for a site for a public hall and library: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—
Charles Joseph Brown,
William O’Donnell,
Henry William Christian,
Walter Pywell,
Samuel Richard Johnson,
John Excell, and
Thomas Russell Hill,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Owhango Public Hall and Library Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the second Tuesday of each month at half past seven o’clock p.m. at the Owhango Public Hall, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Tuesday, the eleventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty.

The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall and library, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Owhango and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to time be determined by the Board; provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.

Notifying Lands in Marlborough Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Town of Kaikoura.
SECTIONS 17, 18, and 19, Block X: Area, 13·5 perches. Capital value, £50.
Good business-site, situated Main Street, Kaikoura; all flat; 21 ft. frontage.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 28th day of January, 1930.

Opening Settlement Land in Southland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the eighteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

(Exempt from rent for a period of two years.)

Weighted with £30, value of outbuildings and fencing, to be paid for in cash.
SPECIAL CONDITION.
After payment of first half year’s rent has been made no further rent will be payable for a period of two years.
