Proclaiming a Road-line laid out through Rangatira 8a 1 and Nukuhau Blocks, Auckland Land District, to be a Public Road.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by an order of the Native Land Court made on the thirteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, duly laid out as a road-line, in pursuance of section one hundred and seventeen of the Native Land Act, 1909, and section fifty-two of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 :

And whereas by section two of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1918, it is provided that where any road-line has heretofore been laid out under the said section one hundred and seventeen, and has not been proclaimed as a public road, then such road-line may be proclaimed as a public road under section forty-eight of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, subject, however, to the conditions prescribed by section fifty-one of the last-mentioned Act and section fifteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914 :

And whereas by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1927, it is also provided that the Governor-General may by Proclamation proclaim as a public road any road or line of road laid off by order of the Court under the said section fifty-two, subject to the conditions prescribed by section fifty-one of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, and section fifteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, hereinbefore referred to.

And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the public interest that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the Minister of Lands, in terms of section fifty-one of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 :

And whereas it is now expedient that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road :

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-eight of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, and section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1927, and in so far as each of these sections is applicable, do hereby proclaim as a public road the road-line described in the Schedule hereto.

In the Auckland Land District ; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/1697, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, under No. 2340, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 16th day of June, 1930.
