Notifying Land in Auckland Land District subject to the Land
for Settlements Act, 1925.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 26th May, 1930.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements
Act, 1925, I hereby notify that the undermentioned
land, being the land known as Mangakura Settlement, which
has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said
Act as from 30th April, 1930.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—MANGAKURA SETTLEMENT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 939 acres 3 roods 23 perches, more or less,
being Allotments 18, 19, 33, and 60 of Maramarua Parish,
and Allotment 199A, Whangamarino Parish : Bounded to-
wards the north-west by Allotment 74 of Maramarua Parish
and Section 6, Block V, Piako Survey District ; towards the
north-east generally by a public road ; again towards the
north-west by Section 15, Block V, Piako Survey District ;
towards the east generally by Section 18, Block VI, Piako
Survey District ; towards the south-west by a public road ;
towards the south-east by Allotment 199, Whangamarino
Parish ; again towards the south-west by a public road ;
again towards the south-east by a public road ; again towards
the south-west by Section 2, Block V, Piako Survey District ;
and towards the north-west by a public road : save and
excepting three intersecting public roads. As the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
21/149/751, deposited under No. 2385 in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
edged red.

Notifying Land in Southland Land District to be subject to the
Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Wellington, 29th May, 1930.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements
Act, 1925, I hereby notify that the undermentioned
land, being the land known as Fernhill Settlement, which
has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said
Act, as from 27th March, 1930.


SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FERNHILL SETTLEMENT.

FIRSTLY, all that area of land in the Southland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 1,434 acres 39 perches, more
or less, being Sections 40, 41, and 161, and Lots 30 to 44,
L.T.P. 36, being parts of Sections 62 to 64, Block XLI,
Taringatura Survey District, and bounded as follows : Com-
mencing at the south-east corner of Lot 8, L.T.P. 235 ;
thence in a north-easterly direction along the boundary of
the said Lot 8 to a public road, 7854 links ; thence in a south-
easterly direction along the said public road to a point in
line with the east boundary of Section 92, Block XLI,
Taringatura Survey District, 523 links ; thence in a northerly
direction across the said public road to and along the boundary
of the said Section 92 to the south-east coast of Section 1,
Block XLI, Taringatura Survey District, 105·2 links, 929 links,
500 links, and 1259 links ; thence in a north-easterly direction
along the boundaries of the said Section 1 and Section 2,
Block XLI, and Section 1, Block XXXVII, Taringatura
Survey District, to a riverbank road reserve, 10479·1 links ;
thence in a southerly direction generally along the eastern
boundaries of Lots 40 and 39, L.T.P. 36, to a public road,
12240 links, 800·5 links, and 1304·4 links ; thence across the
said public road, 105·7 links ; thence along the eastern
boundaries of Lot 38, L.T.P. 36, Section 40, Block XLI, Tari-
ngatura Survey District, and Lots 31 and 30, L.T.P. 36, to the
north-east corner of Section 3 of 105, Block XLI, Taringatura
Survey District, 16010 links ; thence in a westerly direction
along the boundary of the said Section 3 of 105 to a public
road, 1560 links ; thence across the said public road, 101·6
links ; thence in a westerly direction along the boundaries of
the said Section 3 of 105, Sections 2 of 105, and Section 1 of
105 to the point of commencement, 8717·7 links : Be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less, and excepting from the above-
described area all public roads, a deduction for which has
been made from the area.

Secondly, all that area in the Southland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being
Section 443, Block XLII, Hokonui Survey District, bounded
as follows : Towards the south-west, north, and east gene-
rally by a riverbank road reserve ; and towards the south
by Crown land.

As the same are more particularly delineated on plan
marked L. and S. 21/149/296, deposited under No. 2389 in
the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

New Zealand Inscribed Stock Act, 1917.—Closing of Registers.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registers of New Zealand
5½-per-cent. Inscribed Stock, maturing 15th January,
1933, will be closed from the 1st July to the 15th July, 1930
(inclusive), for the purpose of the issue of half-yearly interest.

Awards of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal.

Award of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers Decoration.

HIS Excellence the Governor-General has been pleased to
approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces
Officers’ Decoration to Major J. O. Webber, Reserve of Officers,
Queen Alexandra’s (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amend-
ment, fixing the Closing-hours of Fruiterers’ Shops within the
Combined District of Wellington.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing signed by a majority
of the occupiers of all the fruiterers’ shops within the
Combined District of Wellington, comprising the City of
Wellington and the Town District of Johnsonville, has been
forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the
said combined district be closed in the evening of working-days
as follows : During the period from the 1st day of April to
the 30th day of September (both days inclusive) in each year
on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8 p.m.,
with the following exception—on the evening preceding Good
Friday, and on the evening of the working-day immediately
preceding the 3rd June, and on the evening of the working-day
immediately preceding Anzac Day there shall be no fixed
closing-hour.

And whereas, I, Sydney George Smith, Minister of Labour,
am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a
majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said
combined district :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and
Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that on and after the
9th day of June, 1930, all the said shops within the said
combined district shall be closed accordingly.

Dated at Wellington, this 5th day of June, 1930.
