Opening Settlement Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the
Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule
hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on
Monday, the twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty, at the rental mentioned in the said
Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be
leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Taupo County.—Reporoa Settlement.
SECTION 49: Area, 137 acres 2 roods 39 perches. Capital
value, £410. Half-yearly rent, £10 5s.
Weighted with £940, for improvements comprising dwelling,
200 chains fencing, 75 acres pasture, cow-shed, whare, pataka,
bridge, and water-supply. This sum is payable over a period
of twenty-one years by forty-two half-yearly instalments of
£36 13s. 3d.
Reporoa Settlement is situated on the Rotorua-Taupo
Road, about twenty-five miles distant from Rotorua. Adjoin-
ing the settlement is a school and post and telephone office.
The district has a daily mail and coach service from Rotorua
during the summer months, and thrice weekly during the
winter. Cream lorries collecting for the Rotorua and Ngongo-
taha Dairy Factories pass through the settlement daily during
the dairying season. Undulating to level section, watered
by stream. Soil of poor pumiceous quality.

Opening Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection
on Renewable Lease.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles,
Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the
Schedules hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease
on Monday, the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand
nine hundred and thirty, at the rentals mentioned in the
said Schedules, and I do also declare that the said land shall
be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.—
NATIONAL-ENDOWMENT LAND.
Waitemata County.—Waipareira Parish.
SECTIONS 257 and 258, Block X: Area, 24 acres 2 roods
27 perches. Capital value, £245. Half-yearly rent, £4 18s.
Sections 265 and 266: Area, 24 acres 2 roods 37 perches.
Capital value, £275. Half-yearly rent, £6 17s. 6d.
Sections 257 and 258 are weighted with £30, for improve-
ments comprising 27 chains of fencing, 10 chains of hedging,
3 acres ploughed and in fallow, and one acre in grass. This
sum is payable in cash.
These properties, which are situated on the Swanson-
Henderson Valley Road, three miles from Swanson Railway-
station and post-office, would make good homestead-sites.
Suitable for poultry farming, and would also run a few cows.
The nearest school is at Henderson Valley, about two miles
distant. Access is from both Swanson and Henderson by
formed metalled roads. The land is undulating to steep
country, all more or less ploughable, and is watered by
springs. Soil is for the most part clay with patches of loam
resting on sandstone formation.
PARTICULAR DESCRIPTION.
Sections 257 and 258 comprise undulating land (altitude,
150 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level), all more or less ploughable.
The sections have been covered in hakea and manuka, but
have been cleared, and are now in short scrub. There is a
fairly good water-supply by springs, and a well has been
sunk handy to the shack.
Sections 265 and 266: These sections comprise 10 acres
in pasture and 14½ acres in natural state, covered in fern and
gorse, with a certain amount of rough feed, and are watered
by springs. The land is undulating to steep, with an altitude
from 200 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level. Soil is clay. Improve-
ments included in capital value consist of 61 chains of fencing
valued at £61, and 10 acres cultivated and grassed. Property
would carry up to eight dairy cows when fully developed.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Whangarei County.—Opua-whanga Survey District.
SECTION 14, Block XIII: Area, 315 acres. Capital value,
£240. Half-yearly rent, £4 16s.
Weighted with £710, for improvements consisting of six-
roomed house (not quite finished), washhouse, smoke-house,
and fowlhouse, iron garage, 15 chains road-fencing, 90 chains
of boundary-fencing, and 69 chains subdivisional fencing,
bush felling, and grassing. This sum is to be paid in cash
or by deposit of not less than £50, with balance on mortgage
for 24½ years. (Half-yearly instalments of principal and
interest £24,15s., on mortgage of £660.)
Situated on Marua-Matapouri Road, eight miles from
Kiripaka Post-office, five miles from Matapouri School,
fourteen miles from Hikurangi Dairy Factory, and twenty
miles from Kamo Saleyards. Access by cart-road from
Hikurangi Railway-station. Watered by streams. Clay
soil on clay formation. Front half poor tea-tree land, mostly
undulating; back half rough and broken. Subdivided into
two paddocks, 112 acres in worn-out pasture, 208 acres in
natural state—bush and tea-tree.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Child Welfare Act, 1925, I,
Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several
persons whose respective names and addresses are set out in the First and Second Columns respectively of the
Schedule hereto as persons to be associated with the respective Children’s Courts named in the Third Column of the
said Schedule. And I declare that the said respective appointments are made generally in relation to all matters
that may be dealt with by such respective Courts. And I further declare that the said respective appointments
shall be for one year, ending on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one.
