Notice withdrawing Land from a Mining District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section eight (c) of the Mining Act, 1926, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, withdraw from the Otago Mining District that area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,946 acres 3 roods 10 poles, more or less, being Sections 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, and part 37, Block II; Sections 25 and 1203R, and parts 22, 23, 24, 26, Block III, Section 1, Block V; part of Section 2, Block X, Crookston District; part of Section 5, Block IX, Rankleburn District; Sections 17, 18, 19, and part 16, Block XV, Glenkenich District; part of a public road 50 links wide, and a public road 100 links wide: Bounded towards the north-west generally by a public road, 3523 links, 69·7 links, 2211 links, 745 links, 5710 links, 6554 links, 3749 links; towards the north-east generally by other parts of Sections 26, 24, 23, 22, Section 1202R, Block III, and other part of Section 2, Block X, Crookston District, 364 links, 257·3 links, 743·2 links, 123·4 links, 8504·7 links; towards the south-east by Run 163A, 2136·7 links, 9694 links; towards the south generally by a public road, 648 links, 4610 links, 2692 links, 493 links, 4137 links; towards the east by the crossing of a public road and a public road 50 links, 5370 links; towards the south-west by a public road, Sections 25 and 4, Block IV, Glenkenich District, and again by a public road, 2406 links, 3313 links, 1545 links, 558 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Mines N. 6/4/18, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Mines, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Additional Regulations for the Taking or Killing of Opossums, Otago Acclimatization District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of June, 1930.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE G. W. FORBES, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the Order in Council dated the thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, declaring an open season for the taking or killing of opossums in the Otago Acclimatization District, by adding to the list of persons authorized to sign and issue licenses to take or kill opossums set forth therein, the Postmaster at Milton.

Amending Regulations under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of June, 1930.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE G. W. FORBES, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto the regulations under the said Act (hereinafter referred to as the said regulations) made on the eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and published in the Gazette of the eighteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six.


SCHEDULE.

  1. PARAGRAPH (a) of clause 40 of the said regulations is hereby amended by inserting, after the word “thereafter,” the following words: “in the case of an advance granted in respect of a dwellinghouse, or not later than the thirtieth day thereafter in the case of an advance granted in respect of rural land.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of June, 1930.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE G. W. FORBES, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby cancel the reservation as a reserve for municipal purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 4, Block XI, Mataroa Township: Area, 1 rood, more or less.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Bay of Islands County Council stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.
