HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.
QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.
2nd Lieutenant W. L. Rutherford to be Lieutenant. Dated 21st August, 1929.
THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant H. S. Jones to be Captain. Dated 9th April, 1930.
THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Lieutenant W. B. Stewart, from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be Lieutenant, and is attached to the 2nd Field Brigade, Artillery Section, Napier Boys’ High School Cadets. Dated 16th April, 1930.
THE N.Z. INFANTRY.
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).
Captain J. A. Macdonald, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Waikato Regiment. Dated 14th April, 1930.
2nd Lieutenant H. M. Green ceases to be posted to the 6th C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 12th April, 1930.
2nd Lieutenant E. P. Baty, 5th C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 8th April, 1930.
2nd Lieutenant L. L. J. Grice, 3rd C Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 12th April, 1930.
The Hauraki Regiment.
Stanley John Hedge to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 7th April, 1930.
The Waikato Regiment.
Captain D. E. Trevarthen, 2nd C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 4. Dated 16th April, 1930.
Captain J. A. Macdonald, from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own) to be Captain, with seniority as from the 1st February, 1922, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 14th April, 1930.
The Wellington Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant J. Te H. Grace, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 22nd November, 1929.
2nd Lieutenant A. A. Cook, 1st Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 15th April, 1930.
The Wellington West Coast Regiment.
Lieutenant C. D. Corliss, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 6. Dated 12th April, 1930.
The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.
Lieutenant W. B. Stewart ceases to be posted to the 6th Field Battery, N.Z.A., and is transferred to the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery. Dated 16th April, 1930.
The Canterbury Regiment.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants:—

The Southland Regiment.
Lieutenant D. Malcolm, 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 12th September, 1929.
Lieutenant H. B. C. Parkin, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 12. Dated 11th April, 1930.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Lieutenant J. H. Fahey, M.B., ceases to be attached to the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, and is attached for duty to the 7th Field Battery, N.Z.A. Dated 12th February, 1930.
N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The seniority of the Reverend H. W. Austin, Chaplain, 4th Class, is antedated to the 17th October, 1924.
The seniority of the Reverend H. E. K. Fry, Chaplain, 4th Class, is antedated to 3rd December, 1923.
With reference to the notice published in the N.Z. Gazette, No. 48, dated 27th June, 1929, relative to D. B. Duggan, Chaplain, 4th Class, for “R.D. 9” substitute “R.D. 12.”
RESERVE OF OFFICERS.
The Waikato Regiment.
Captain W. J. King, M.C., is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 16th April, 1930.
The Southland Regiment.
Captain A. S. Hogg resigns his commission. Dated 11th April, 1930.

Lieutenant Ralph Leslie Cross to Acting Lieutenant-Commander, R.N.V.R. (N.Z.D.); to date 15th April, 1930.

Public Trust Office.—Termination of Agency at Cambridge and Appointment of District Manager.
IT is notified for public information that the Agency of the Public Trust Office at Cambridge has been terminated and a permanent branch established under the control of Mr. H. E. Amyes.

Claims against the former Austro-Hungarian Government.
Wellington, 14th April, 1930.
THE arbitrator appointed under clause 4 of the Annex to Section IV, Part X, of the Treaty of St. Germain-en-Laye, to assess the amount of claims by British Nationals arising out of acts committed by the former Austro-Hungarian Government or by any Austrian authorities since 28th July, 1914, and before the 12th August, 1914, has prescribed that in the case of claimants resident in New Zealand all such claims must be lodged with him at 2 Cavendish Square, London, W1, before the expiration of five months from the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette.
All claimants who have claims of the nature mentioned should forward five copies of their claims to the undersigned for transmission to the arbitrator. The necessary forms may be obtained on application to the Public Trustee as Controller of the New Zealand Clearing Office. The claims should be lodged by the claimants themselves or by their solicitors or other duly authorized agents acting for them on their behalf.
