HOWICK TOWN BOARD.

COPY OF RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE MADE BY THE HOWICK TOWN BOARD AT ITS MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, THE 6TH MARCH, 1930.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Howick Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,625, authorized to be raised by the Howick Town Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of laying, kerbing, channelling, and forming footpaths, and making storm-water provision in Picton Street, the said Howick Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven fortieths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Howick Town District, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

ENTRY RESOLVING THAT COMPANY BE WOUND UP.

PURSUANT to subsection (6) of section 168 of the Companies Act, 1908, the company hereby makes the following entry in its minute-book, duly signed by the undersigned, being at least three-fourths of the members of the company, and holding in the aggregate at least three-fourths of the shares in the capital of the company, viz.:—

It having been proved to its satisfaction that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, it is resolved that the said company be wound up voluntarily, and that ROBERT ARCHIBALD REW, of Auckland, Accountant, be and the said Robert Archibald Rew is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of winding up the affairs of the company and distributing its assets.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between WALTER SPENCER ALLEN, HEATHCOTE BEETHAM WILLIAMS, and ARTHUR HOLMES ROWSON, relative to the business of Motor-garage Proprietors, hitherto carried on at Peel Street, Gisborne, under the firm name of “The Gisborne Garage,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 12th day of February, 1930.

All moneys due to the late Partnership must be paid to the Liquidators forthwith at the offices of Messrs. McCulloch, Butler, and Spence, Public Accountants, Lowe Street, Gisborne.

All persons having claims against the late Partnership are requested to furnish particulars thereof to Messrs. McCulloch, Butler, and Spence without delay in order that a settlement may be facilitated.

I, REGINALD CHARLES BONNINGTON, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (N.Z.), 1929, now residing in Hamilton, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 19th April next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Auckland.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, and their amendments, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for street purposes, Evans Bay Road, in the City of Wellington—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of the piece of land required to be taken: 0·01 perch.
Being part of Lot 12 on deposited plan No. 1450; coloured red.
Situate in the City of Wellington.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the NORTHERN EXPORT COMPANY, LIMITED.

AT an extraordinary meeting held at Toorak Chambers, Victoria Street, Hamilton, on Thursday, 20th March, 1930, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it is proved to its satisfaction that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same.”

It was also resolved that Mr. R. A. SPINLEY, Public Accountant, of Auckland, be appointed the Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waipa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,700, authorized to be raised by the Waipa County Council under the above-mentioned Act for constructing waterworks for the supply of water in the Te Rore Special-rating Area, hereinafter described, including all engineering and survey charges, and the cost of land, easements, machinery, plant, materials, and labour, the said Waipa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2½d. in the £1 upon the rateable (unimproved) value of all rateable property of the Te Rore Special-rating Area, comprising all that area in the Mangapiko Riding of the Waipa County bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waipa River in line with the north-western boundary of Allotment 5, Parish of Ngaroto; thence to and along that boundary to the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the said Allotment 5; thence across that road, and south-easterly along its north-eastern side to the north-western corner of Allotment 11, Parish of Ngaroto; thence along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Allotment 11 and the north-western boundary of Allotment 14 to the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the said Allotment 14, Parish of Ngaroto; thence along the western side of that road to a public road forming the northern boundary of Allotment 30; thence across that road and along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Allotment 30 and the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 35, Parish of Ngaroto, to the road forming the southern boundary of the said Allotment 35; thence across that road and along its southern side to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 39; thence
