A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land taken :—

A. R. P. Being Portion of
0 0 8·9 Part Lot 10 of a subdivision of Taupaki Block ; coloured red.
0 0 1·4 Part Section 10A ; coloured blue.

Situated in Block V, Waitemata Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 25303.)

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 77350, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 13th day of January, 1930.

Timaru Prison to cease to be a Prison.

———

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Prisons Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, declare that any prison shall no longer be a prison; and upon the gazetting of such Proclamation, or from and after any later date fixed in such Proclamation for the purpose, such prison shall cease to be a prison :

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that from and after the thirty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, and all the buildings and enclosures used or occupied thereon, known as the Timaru Prison, shall cease to be a prison.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods, more or less, being part Reserve 203 (formerly Timaru Town Sections 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 147, and 148), situated in the Borough of Timaru. Bounded towards the north by North Street, 500 links; towards the east by Section 131, 250 links; towards the south by Sections 144, 145, and 146, 300 links; again towards the east by Section 146, 250 links; again towards the south by Heaton Street, 200 links; and towards the west by Sections 149 and 137, 500 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.D. 1919/16/2, deposited in the Head Office of the Prisons Department at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 9th day of January, 1930.

Proclaiming Native Land to have become Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia, that on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, the Governor-General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become Crown land :

And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, and its amendments :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has become Crown land.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that part of Horowhenua 9A 2 Block, situate in Block II, Waitohu Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 3·5 perches, more or less, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 410, folio 19, of the Land Registration District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 8th day of January, 1930.
