THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Raglan County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that the following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Bain’s Road Special-rating Area of the County of Raglan, taken on the 25th day of February, 1930, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £1,500 for the purpose of forming and metalling Bain’s Road in the Bain’s Road Special-rating Area of the said county:—

Total number of valid votes recorded .. .. 13
For the proposal .. .. .. 12
Against the proposal .. .. .. 1

As the total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal are more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Piako County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Manawaru North Special-rating Area was taken on the 10th day of February, 1930, on the proposal of the Piako County Council to borrow the sum of £1,150 for the purpose of providing the Manawaru Riding’s share of the cost of the reconstruction of the Shaftesbury Bridge.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 36; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 49. I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Kaiapoi Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

KAIPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Main Road Paving Loan, £3,000.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Kaiapoi taken on the 27th day of February, 1930, on the proposal of the Kaiapoi Borough Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 for main road paving, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 369; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 10.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Constitution of Motueka River District.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 6th March, 1930.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the River Boards Act, 1908, and its amendments, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a River District under the said Act, by name the Motueka River District:

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution of the said river district which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS MOTUEKA RIVER DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea-coast in line with the northern boundary of Section 21 (N.R.), Block XI, Kaiteriteri Survey District; thence to and along that boundary to the north-western corner of the said Section 21; thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of Block X, Kaiteriteri Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 15, Block III, Motueka Survey District; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 15 and 12, Block III aforesaid, to the south-western corner of the said Section 12; thence along the northern boundary of Section 3 and the northern and western boundary of Section 2, Block III aforesaid, to the Motueka River; thence along the left bank of the Motueka River to the northernmost corner of Part 6 of Section 61, Block III aforesaid; thence along the north-western boundary of said Part 6 of Section 61 to the Motueka River; thence along the Motueka River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 250, Block III aforesaid; thence
