Opening Land in the North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, Sir Michael Myers, Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national-endowment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.— NATIONAL-ENDOWMENT LAND.
Bay of Islands County.—Kaeo Survey District.
SECTION 2, Block XI : Area, 412 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £360. Half-yearly rent, £7 4s.
Weighted with £200, value of improvements consisting of 70 acres felling and grassing (now reverting to second growth), 160 chains of fencing (30 chains boundary-fences in bad repair), five-roomed dwelling (wood, with iron roof), cow-shed, dairy, and shed. Buildings in poor state of repair. This amount may be paid in cash or may be secured by mortgage for thirty years to the Superintendent, State Advances Department.
Section is situated eight miles from Kaeo by formed road, and two miles from Pungaire School. Nearest store is at Waipapa, seven miles distant. Easy sloping, undulating to fairly steep country. About 35 acres green bush, 70 acres felled bush; balance manuka scrub and fern. Hakea and blackberry prevalent. Soil is fair clay resting on sandstone formation. Well watered by several permanent streams, Altitude, 500 ft. to 800 ft. above sea-level.

Opening Lands in the Wellington Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, Sir Michael Myers, Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the Crown and national-endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule ; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Kaitieke County.—Manganui Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for a period of seven years.) SECTION 5, Block VI : Area, 740 acres. Capital value, £275. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £5 10s.
Weighted with £990, for improvements consisting of dwelling; about 230 chains of fencing, and 300 acres felling and grassing. This amount may be paid in cash, or may be secured to the State Advances Superintendent by first mortgage on thirty-year table ; interest at 6 per cent. per annum.
This section is situated on the watershed of the Retaruke and Manganui-a-te-ao Rivers, with a frontage to the Erua Road. Access is from Erua Railway-station, nine miles distant by formed dray-road. There are 240 acres in standing bush, 500 acres felled and grassed, of which 200 acres have reverted to fern and undergrowth. The section is undulating to steep and broken country. Soil is of light quality loam resting on papa and sandstone formation. Altitude, 2,000 ft. to 2,400 ft. above sea-level.

Notifying Land in Southland Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, Sir Michael Myers, Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the sixteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash ; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Wallace County.-Alton Survey District.
SECTION 32, Block III : Area, 5 acres 2 roods 34 perches. Upset price, £80.
Weighted with £372 2s., valuation for improvements consisting of stable, hut, cow-bvre, wool-shed, yards and dip, and fencing.
Description.—The whole of the section is in good pasture, more than half of the land being stumped. Situated two miles from Tuatapere, by good road.

Notifying Rural Lands in Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, Sir Michael Myers, Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the fifteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments ; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said land shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Kowai County.—Kowai Survey District.
Lots 25 and 26 of Reserve 1824, Block XII : Area, 4 acres. Upset price, £56.
Lots 3 to 12 (inclusive) of Reserve 425, and closed road, Block XII : Area, 6 acres 0 roods 25 perches. Upset price, £125.
Lots part 29, part 30, and 32 to 40 of Reserve 425, and closed road, Block XII : Area, 26 acres 2 roods 16 perches. Upset price, £107.
Lots 25 and 26 of Reserve 1824 comprise light flat, stony ploughable land, situated about one mile from Springfield Railway-station. It is suitable for grazing or growing sheep-feed. No improvements, except old boundary gorse and wire fence.
Lots 3 to 12 (inclusive) of Reserve 425 and closed road comprise fair quality land, all flat and ploughable, somewhat low-lying, and subject to flooding after heavy rains. The area is suitable for a holding paddock and for cultivation. Situated about a quarter of a mile from Springfield Railway-station. Improvements comprise old fencing on road lines and north boundary.
Lots 32 to 40 (inclusive) of Reserve 425 and closed road comprise poor cold clay downs, partly covered with gorse and manuka scrub, suitable for grazing only. About half a mile from Springfield Railway-station. Improvements comprise boundary fencing only.
