The above resolution was duly passed as set out.

HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Council of the Borough of Hawera hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment with interest and other charges of a loan of two thousand pounds (£2,000), authorized to be raised by the Hawera Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of paying off the special loan of two thousand seven hundred pounds (£2,700) heretofore raised by the Council, which became due and payable on the 10th day of February, 1930, the said Hawera Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seventy-seven one-thousandths (77/1,000ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of that portion only of the rateable property of the Borough of Hawera, comprising the whole of the Borough of Hawera as originally constituted and described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1882, Volume 1, page 5; that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of the month of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Hawera Borough Council at a special meeting held on the 25th day of February, 1930.

WELLINGTON EDUCATION BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Wellington requires to take the land, with improvements, as described hereunder—namely: All that piece of land, containing three acres and fifteen perches (3 acres 15 perches), being the allotments numbered 57 to 72 (inclusive) and 84 to 89 (inclusive) on a subdivisional plan of part Sections four (4) and six (6), Watts Peninsula District.

The above area is required for the purposes of a public work—namely, for a public school within the meaning of the Education Act, 1914—and notice is hereby given that a plan of the above area is open for inspection at the office of the said Board in Mercer Street, in the City of Wellington.

All persons affected by such taking are hereby requested to set forth in writing well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the said Board.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

J. G. DAGG AND E. J. CLARKE.

THE Partnership hitherto existing between Mr. J. G. DAGG and Mr. E. J. CLARKE in the business known as “Masterton Joinery Works” has been dissolved as from the 28th February, 1930.

The business will be carried on by Mr. Dagg, at Opaki Road, Masterton, as heretofore, and under the same style or name. All liabilities of the firm will be discharged by Mr. Dagg, to whom all payments due to the firm shall be made at the above premises.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and its amendments, and in the matter of HOLMES AND SON, LIMITED, having its registered office situated at Rosedale, North Invercargill.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at Invercargill on the twenty-first day of February, 1930, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“ That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof, and that Mr. DUGALD MACPHERSON, of Invercargill, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

TAKE notice that I, JAMES KINCAID ALEXANDER, of Auckland, have sold my business of Signwriter and Decorator, carried on at Zenith Buildings, corner of Cook and Ferguson Streets, Auckland, to EDWARD EARLY and ALFRED EARLY as on the 1st day of March, 1930, and that the said Edward Early and Alfred Early will carry on the said business under the style of “J. K. Alexander,” but will assume all responsibility and liability in respect of the said business as from that date.

All moneys owing to me in respect of the said business on the 1st March, 1930, remain my sole property and shall be paid to me.
