Opening Land in the North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, Michael Myers, Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-second day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Franklin County.—Kohcroa Parish.
SECTION 184: Area, 457 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £460. Deposit on deferred payments, £25; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £14 2s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £9 4s.
Section 185: Area, 186 acres 1 rood 8 perches. Capital value, £280. Deposit on deferred payments, £15; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £8 12s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 12s.
Section 187: Area, 178 acres 0 roods 6 perches. Capital value, £455. Deposit on deferred payments, £25; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £13 19s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £9 2s.
Section 188: Area, 153 acres 2 roods 32 perches. Capital value, £460. Deposit on deferred payments, £25; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £14 2s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £9 4s.
Section 190: Area, 284 acres 0 roods 16 perches. Capital value, £710. Deposit on deferred payments, £35; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £21 18s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £14 4s.
Sections 192 and 196: Area, 92 acres 1 rood 25 perches. Capital value, £270. Deposit on deferred payments, £15; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £8 5s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 8s.
Section 194: Area, 53 acres 2 roods 8 perches. Capital value, £160. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £4 17s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 4s.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION.
The sections are situated at Kohcroa on the Pokeno–Paeroa Road. Access is from Pokeno Township, which is nine miles distant by good metalled road. With the exception of Sections 184 and 185, the land is generally level to undulating, with small gullies, and is covered in fern and tea-tree scrub. The soil varies from white to bluish clay resting on clay formation.
PARTICULAR DESCRIPTION.
Section 184: This section comprises mostly rough hilly country, and is covered with fern and tea-tree scrub, but is well watered. Altitude ranges from 75 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level.
Section 185: The altitude of this section is from 50 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. The area varies from steep to broken country, covered with fern and tea-tree scrub.
Section 187: The section comprises level to easy undulating land, being watered by swampy springs. Altitude ranges from 20 ft. to 60 ft. above sea-level.
Section 188: This is a well situated section, and comprises easy undulating land covered in fern and tea-tree scrub. Elevation ranges from 40 ft. to 70 ft. above sea-level. The section is watered by permanent springs.
Section 190: This area comprises easy undulating land covered in fern and tea-tree scrub, and is watered by permanent springs. Altitude ranges from 40 ft. to 70 ft. above sea-level.
Sections 192 and 196: The sections are practically all level, being watered by swampy springs. Elevation ranges 20 ft. to 30 ft. above sea-level. Fern and tea-tree scrub covers the whole area.
Section 194: Comprises level to easy undulating land covered in fern and tea-tree scrub and watered by small springs. Altitude ranges from 20 ft. to 60 ft. above sea-level.

Extending Time for furnishing Report of Commission to Inquire into Cases of Hardship arising from the Imposition of Special Land-tax.

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to WILLIAM GLENDINNING RIDDELL, Esquire, of Wellington, Gentleman; DONALD GEORGE CLARK, Esquire, of Wellington, Gentleman; and ALBERT EDWARD FOWLER, Esquire, of Wellington, Gentleman. GREETING:
WHEREAS by Warrant issued under the hand of the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand and the seal of the said Dominion on the fifth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, you were appointed a Commission to inquire and report as to any cases of hardship that may arise from the imposition of special land-tax in accordance with section two of the Land and Income Tax Amendment Act, 1929:
And whereas by the said Warrant you were required to report to the Governor-General under your hands and seals not later than the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, your recommendations in respect of such cases of hardship:
And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be extended as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, I, Michael Myers, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Land and Income Tax Amendment Act, 1929, and by the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby extend the time not later than which you are so required to report until the twenty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty:
And with the like advice and consent, and in further pursuance of the said powers and authorities, I do hereby confirm the said Warrant and the Commission thereby constituted except as altered by these presents.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of February, 1930.
