THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Castlepoint County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

CASTLEPOINT COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Castlepoint taken on the 1st day of February, 1930, on the proposal of the Castlepoint County Council to borrow the sum of six hundred pounds (£600) for the purpose of constructing a bridge across the Lower Whakataki Stream, at Whakataki, on the Tinui to Castlepoint Main Highway, within the County of Castlepoint, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 95; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5; the number of informal votes, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Kaitaia Drainage District.—Notice of Intention to make and levy Rates.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy an annually recurring special rate to meet interest and sinking fund on capital for the period from the 1st April, 1929, to the 31st March, 1930, on the unimproved value of all land other than the land comprising the Kaitaia Town District within the district constituted under the said Act.

The amount of such rate shall be payable in one sum on the 1st March, 1930.

The valuation roll of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer, Kaitaia, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, the ratepayers within the district constituted by the last-mentioned Act are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ended 31st March, 1930, unpaid on the 17th March, 1930.

Rates may be paid at any money-order office or to the Collector of Rates, Box 1659, Auckland.

Hauraki Plains Rating District.—Penalty on Overdue Rates.

IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, the ratepayers within the district constituted by the last-mentioned Act are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ended 31st March, 1930, unpaid on 27th March, 1930.

Rates may be paid at any money-order office or to the Collector of Rates, Box 1659, Auckland.

IN pursuance of section 4 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Hawke’s Bay County Council hereby declares African Boxthorn (Lycium Horridum) to be a noxious weed within the jurisdiction of the said Council.
