THE EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND.

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a public school, the following land, namely:—

All that piece of land situated in the Provincial District of Auckland containing four (4) acres and thirty-four decimal two (34·2) perches, more or less, being part of Waiwhakaata 3E No. 2 Section 1, situate in Block X, Pirongia Survey District. A plan of the said land is deposited at the post-office at Ngutunui, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.

All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office in Wellesley Street, Auckland.

BOROUGH OF MOUNT ALBERT.

SPECIAL RATE STRUCK.

Re Water-supply Redemption Loan (1930) of £12,500.

AT a meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council held on Tuesday, the 28th day of January, 1930, the following resolution was duly carried:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Mount Albert Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,500, authorized to be raised by the Mount Albert Borough Council under the above-named Act for paying off a portion of the loan of £18,500 borrowed by the Mount Albert Road Board in 1904 for water-supply purposes, the said Mount Albert Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four twenty-fifths of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Mount Albert, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I, Harry Utting, Town Clerk and Treasurer of the Mount Albert Borough Council, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the resolution passed at a meeting of the said Council held on the 28th day of January, 1930.
