Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section three of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Basil Chandos Beaumont Dickson, of the Public Trust Office, Whangarei, to be Deputy of the District Public Trustee, Whangarei, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters, and all previous appointments in this behalf are hereby revoked.

Open Seasons for Deer Shooting, Lakes District Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Philip Aldborough de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 15th day of March, 1930, to the 31st day of May, 1930 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in those parts of the Lakes District Acclimatization District described in the First and Second Schedules hereto for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., red-deer stags and hinds—and the period from the 15th day of March, 1930, to the 31st day of May, 1930 (both days inclusive), to be an open season within that part of the said acclimatization district described in the Third Schedule hereto for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., fallow deer bucks and does—and the period from the 15th day of March, 1930, to the 31st day of May, 1930 (both days inclusive), to be an open season within that part of the said acclimatization district described in the Fourth Schedule hereto for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., Virginian deer bucks and does—subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds in the areas described in the First and Second Schedules hereto may be issued by the Secretary of the Lakes District Acclimatization Society, Queenstown, on payment of a license fee of £4, in the forms prescribed in the Fifth and Sixth Schedules hereto; and licenses to take or kill fallow deer bucks and does in the area described in the Third Schedule hereto may be issued by the said Secretary on payment of a license fee of £2 in the form prescribed in the Seventh Schedule hereto; and licenses to take or kill Virginian deer bucks and does in the area described in the Fourth Schedule hereto may be issued by the said Secretary on payment of a license fee of £2 in the form prescribed in the Eighth Schedule hereto; all of such licenses shall be subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this notification: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

Ball cartridge only to be used; provided that no metal-patched or metal-cased bullet shall be used for killing such deer.

No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

Nothing in any license to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds or fallow deer bucks and does or Virginian deer bucks and does shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags or hinds or fallow deer bucks or does or Virginian deer bucks or does on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

The licensee must give notice to the said Secretary of the date on which it is his intention to stalk deer; such notice to be posted, or delivered, or telegraphed three clear days before such date.

Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
All that area known as Glacier Creek, Routeburn, Rockburn, and Dart Valleys.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
All that area known as the Aspiring, Upper Wanaka, Wilkins, and Matukituki Districts.
THIRD SCHEDULE.
All that area known as Greenstone and Caples Valleys, and the country from Bob’s Cove to Lake Dispute; thence to Ben Lomond and One-mile Creek.
FOURTH SCHEDULE.
All that area known as Rees Valley, Kinlock and Caples, Upper Wakatipu.
FIFTH SCHEDULE.
License to take or kill Imported Game (Deer).
, of , having this day paid the sum of £4, is hereby authorized to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds within that part of the Lakes District Acclimatization District known as the Glacier Creek, Routeburn, Rockburn, and Dart Valleys, from the 15th day of March, 1930, to the 31st day of May, 1930 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and all regulations and notifications affecting red-deer stags and hinds made thereunder and in force within the said district.
This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.
