Notice making and levying Rates under the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and Amendments.

I, GEORGE WILLIAM FORBES, Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, do hereby make and levy a rate to meet maintenance costs upon the unimproved value of all lands in the Waihi Drainage District liable to be rated in pursuance of that Act on a graduated scale as specified in the Schedule hereto according to the classification of the land.

The said rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th December, 1929, to the Collector of Rates at the Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, at which office the rate-book will be open for inspection.

A copy of the rate-book may be inspected at the office of Mr. H. W. Earp, Clerk, Kaituna River Board, Te Puke, at all times at which that office is open for the transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act, seven pence and thirty-one hundredths of a penny (7d. and 31/100ths d.) in the pound.

Class B: On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class B by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act, five pence and sixty-nine one hundredths of a penny (5d. and 69/100ths d.) in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class C by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act, three pence and twenty-five one hundredths of a penny (3d. and 25/100ths d.) in the pound.

pplying the Provisions of Section 136 of the Public Works Act, 1928, to the Eastern Bridge over the Waipa River at Otorohanga, on the Auckland–Wellington via Taranaki Main Highway, and the Western Bridge over the Waipa River at Otorohanga, on the Otorohanga–Honikiwi Main Highway.

WHEREAS by resolution dated the 27th November, 1929, the Main Highways Board recommends, in pursuance of section 7 of the Main Highways Amendment Act, 1925, that the provisions of section 136 of the Public Works Act, 1928, be applied to the Eastern Bridge over the Waipa River at Otorohanga, on the Auckland–Wellington via Taranaki Main Highway, and the Western Bridge over the Waipa River at Otorohanga, on the Otorohanga–Honikiwi Main Highway:

Now, therefore, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Minister of Public Works, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Main Highways Amendment Act, 1925, and of every other power in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the provisions of the said section 136 of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall apply in so far as affects the Eastern Bridge over the Waipa River at Otorohanga, on the Auckland–Wellington via Taranaki Main Highway, and the Western Bridge over the Waipa River at Otorohanga, on the Otorohanga–Honikiwi Main Highway.

Notice to Owner of Land under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), Unclaimed Lands.

TO the owner of all that parcel of land situate in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing 50 acres, more or less, being Allotment 185, Parish of Te Papa: Bounded on the north by Allotment 184, 3060 links; on the east by a road 100 links wide, 1637 links; on the south by Allotment 186, 3060 links; on the west by Allotment 182, 1637 links; which said parcel of land was granted to William Godfrey Hairfield, sometime Private, 1st Regiment Waikato Militia, by Crown grant dated the 21st day of October, 1869:

Whereas, after due inquiry, the owner of the above-described land cannot be found; and whereas the said owner has no known agent or agents in New Zealand: Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months from the date of the publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land, and if he fails or neglects so to do the Public Trustee will exercise with regard to the said land all the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.
