Declaring Roads in Block XIV, Belmont Survey District, to be under the Control and Management of the Lower Hutt Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of December, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be under the control and management of the Lower Hutt Borough Council.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those roads in the Wellington Land District, Borough of Lower Hutt, known as Riverside Drive (between Wainui Road and Bell Road), Bell Square, York Street, Elizabeth Street, Cressy Street, Hardy Street, Collingwood Street, Cambridge Terrace, Oxford Terrace, and Waterloo Square. All situated in Block XIV, Belmont Survey District. As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 77190, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Declaring Hospital Boards to be Local Authorities for the Purposes of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of December, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section two of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that Hospital Boards shall be local authorities for the purposes of the said Act.

Directing Sale of Railway Land at Blenheim, under the Public Works Act, 1928.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of December, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the thirty-fifth section of the Public Works Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work the Governor-General may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the condition set forth in the said Act ;

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land : 8·7 perches.

Portion of Railway Reserve (part Sections 46, Opawa, and 174, Omaka), Borough of Blenheim. (S.O. R. 415/41, red). In the Marlborough Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked I.O. 583, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring a Native to be a European.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this 5th day of December, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Governor-General may by Order in Council, on the recommendation of the Native Land Court, declare any Native to be a European :

And whereas William Goulton (sometimes known as Wiri Kotene), of Kaeo, being a Native within the meaning of the Native Land Act, 1909, applied in the prescribed form for a recommendation of the Court that he might be declared a European : And whereas the said Court, having duly inquired into the said application, has recommended that an Order in Council be issued declaring the said William Goulton to be a European :

And whereas it is expedient that such declaration should be made :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on him by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the said William Goulton to be a European.

Partial Revocation of Order in Council prohibiting all Alienation of Native Land other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of December, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any Order in Council made under that section may at any time be varied or revoked :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council referred to in Part I of the Schedule hereto, but only in so far as it affects the land mentioned in Part II of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

PART I.

ORDER IN COUNCIL under section 363 of the Native Land Act, 1909, dated the 11th day of May, 1929, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 23rd day of May, 1929, affecting Ohuanga North No. 1b and other subdivisions.

PART II.

That part of Ohuanga 2b 2 Block lying between the Tongariro River and the Waiouru-Tokaanu Road, and comprising an area of 44 acres 1 rood 21 perches, more or less.
