In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of SUN AND YEW, LIMITED (in Liquidation).

IN accordance with the provisions of sections 230 and 252 of the Companies Act, 1908, notice is hereby given that a final general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the offices of Messrs. Lovegrove and George, Solicitors, Horne’s Buildings, Vulcan Lane, Auckland, on Monday, 25th February, at 10 o’clock a.m.

Business: To receive and adopt the Liquidator’s report and statement of affairs, showing how the winding-up of the company has been conducted and its property disposed of.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following special resolution was passed by the above-named company by making an entry in its minute-book signed by at least three-fourths of the members holding at least three-fourths of the shares in the company, viz:—

Special Resolution.

“ That the McWATTERS HARDWARE AND GENERAL TRADING COMPANY, LIMITED, be would up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and its amendments, and that MATTHEW HAROLD WILKS, of Taumarunui, Public Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

OTAGO CENTRAL ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Otago Central Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges in the Matakauui and Lauder Reticulation Loan, 1928, authorized to be raised by the Otago Central Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of reticulating the area added to the Otago Central Electric-power District under Proclamation dated 11th July, 1928, and appearing in the New Zealand Gazette Number 57, of 19th July, 1928, at page 2225 thereof, altering existing lines and providing for the Board’s offices, the said Otago Central Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of two pence in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of that portion of the Otago Central Electric-power District described in the Schedule to the Proclamation above mentioned, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable annually on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution of the Otago Central Electric-power Board passed at a meeting of the Board held on the 6th day of February, 1929.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Otago Central Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on the Financial Assistance to Consumers Loan, 1928, authorized to be raised by the Otago Central Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of providing assistance to consumers in the area added to the Otago Central Electric-power District under Proclamation dated 11th July, 1928, and appearing in the New Zealand Gazette Number 57, of 19th July, 1928, at page 2225 thereof, in connection with the supply of electrical current and the necessary appliances for that purpose, the said Otago Central Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-sixteenths of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of that portion of the Otago Central Electric-power District described in the Schedule to the Proclamation above mentioned, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable annually on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution of the Otago Central Electric-power Board passed at a meeting of the Board held on the 6th day of February, 1929.

WAIMAKARIRI RIVER TRUST.

SPECIAL ORDER DIRECTING SPECIAL RATE TO BE LEVIED.

Waimakariri Special Loan Area.

THE Waimakariri River Trust hereby publicly notifies that the following special order was passed at its ordinary meeting held at its office, Commerce Hall, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, on Tuesday, the 22nd day of January, 1929, at the hour of 2.30 o’clock p.m.

Whereas the Waimakariri River Trust is authorized to raise a special loan of £100,000 for the improvement and flood control of the Waimakariri River from Courtenay to the sea in that part of the Waimakariri River Trust District known as the Waimakariri Special Loan Area, constituted and defined as such by the Trust by resolution bearing date the 11th day of December, 1928 (and described and set out in the minutes of the Trust of that date), and such loan to be repaid within a period of 36½ years by means of a sinking fund: And whereas the said Trust is by section 21 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, authorized by resolution gazetted to make and levy a special rate to provide for the payment of the interest and sinking fund of the said loan: And whereas the Trust is by section 101 of the River Boards Act, 1908, authorized (in lieu of itself making and levying any special rate) by special order to direct such rate to be made and levied and to fix the amount of such rate: Now, therefore, the Trust doth hereby by way of special order resolve as follows:—

  1. That for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest and sinking fund and other charges on the said
