AT an extraordinary general meeting of the Manawatu Shipping Company, Limited, held in the Town Hall, Foxton, on Tuesday, the 5th February, 1929, the following extraordinary resolution was unanimously carried by the meeting :—
“ That is is proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that MESSRS. RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
East Linwood Waterworks Loan, 1928, £5,300.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,300, authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing a high-pressure water-supply in the district of East Linwood, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three pence (3d.) and one-thousand-and-eighty-three two-thousand-five-hundredths (1083/2500ths) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the East Linwood Special-rating Area as defined in the Schedule hereto, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
SCHEDULE REFERRED TO ABOVE.
All that area in the City of Christchurch commencing at a point at the junction of the north-western side of Buckley’s Road with the south-western side of Canal Reserve Road ; thence south-easterly along Canal Reserve Road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of the land in deposit plan 1957 ; thence north-easterly across the last-named road and along the said boundary to McGregor’s Road ; thence diagonally across that road ; thence north-easterly along the south-east side of McGregor’s Road to the road angle opposite to Kearney’s Road ; thence across the road and along the north-western side of Kearney’s Road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of the land in plan T48938 ; thence across Kearney’s Road and along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the land in the said plan T48938 to Page’s Road ; thence across that road and south-westerly along the north-western side of Page’s Road and Buckley’s Road to the point of commencement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly carried at a meeting of the Christchurch City Council held in the City Council Chambers, 194 Manchester Street, Christchurch, on Monday, the 4th day of February, 1929.
