WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Wanganui City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £3,500, authorized to be raised by the Wanganui City Council under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the following purposes, namely:—

The erection of a ladies’ rest-room in the City of Wanganui, and the providing of all material, appliances, and things necessary, expedient, or convenient for such purposes, the Wanganui City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fourth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable property of the City of Wanganui, the boundaries whereof are defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th day of August, 1926, Number 53, at pages 2500 and 2501, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of January and the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period expiring on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In witness whereof the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wanganui has by resolution of the Council passed on the 15th day of October, 1929, been hereunto affixed, this 15th day of October, 1929.

WAIRERE ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Rating Act, 1925, and all other powers enabling, the Wairere Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,500, authorized to be raised by the ratepayers of the Mahoenui Special-rating District by a poll of the said ratepayers taken on the 30th day of August, 1929, for the purpose of giving a supply of electricity to the residents of the said Mahoenui Special-rating District, by the erection of distribution-lines, transformers, and sectionalizing stations, services, buildings, purchase of land, tools, meters and equipment, and apparatus to sell to consumers under sections 118, 119, and 120 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and for the payment of preliminary and other expenses; and also for the purpose of providing the required security and to meet the interest charges and sinking fund (of not less than 2 per cent.) during the currency of the said loan (which will be for a period not exceeding twenty-six years), the said Wairere Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound sterling upon the unimproved value of all rateable property situated in the said Mahoenui Special-rating District, and that the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Length and intended course of race: 507 yards; north-westerly.

Points of intake: One.

Estimated time and cost of construction: 1 month; £25.

Mean depth and breadth: Ground-race, 2 ft. by 1 ft.; pipes 1 in.

Number of heads to be diverted: Half head.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation and domestic purposes.

Proposed term of license: Fifteen years.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Mount Eden Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £8,750, authorized to be raised by the Mount Eden Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, being 10 per cent. on £87,500, part of 1926 special loan for the permanent construction of roads in cement concrete or bituminous concrete, and the construction of footpaths,
