The notice published in the N.Z. Gazette, No. 68, of 21st July, 1921, relating to 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) A. D. Morris, 19th Medium Battery, is cancelled and the following substituted :—

2nd Lieutenant N. H. Gard’ner is transferred from the Southern Depot, N.Z.E., to the Central Depot, N.Z.E., with seniority as from the 15th September, 1927. Dated 16th October, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant R. M. South to be Lieutenant. Dated 15th September, 1929.

Lieutenant P. A. Hickling, 2nd C Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 24th October, 1929.

The Hauraki Regiment.
Lieutenant C. A. Noble, from the Wellington Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 23rd June, 1927, and is posted to the 1st C Battalion. Dated 23rd October, 1929.

The Wellington Regiment.
Lieutenant C. A. Noble, 5th C Battalion, is transferred to the Hauraki Regiment. Dated 23rd October, 1929.
Lieutenant W. V. R. Fletcher, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Otago Regiment. Dated 18th October, 1929.

Lieutenant A. B. Sheehan, 2nd C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 7. Dated 21st October, 1929.

The Taranaki Regiment.
Lieutenant J. G. Grant, V.C., 2nd C Battalion, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 16th October, 1929.

The Canterbury Regiment.
Captain C. L. E. L. Sheppard, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 10. Dated 31st May, 1929.
Lieutenant D. Malcolm, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Southland Regiment. Dated 21st October, 1929.

The Otago Regiment.
Lieutenant W. V. R. Fletcher, from the Wellington Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 12th May, 1928, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 18th October, 1929.

The Southland Regiment.
Lieutenant D. Malcolm, from the Canterbury Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 31st July, 1926, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 21st October, 1929.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Lyttelton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Lyttelton was taken on the 25th day of October, 1929, on the proposal of the said Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of running high-tension distribution-lines from the substation, Simeon Quay, to Officers Point, Sumner Road, and to the Reclamation Area, Naval Point, West Lyttelton, and the erection and installation of three transformer substations. The number of votes recorded were as follows :—

For the proposal .. .. .. 179
Against the proposal .. .. .. 21

I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.
