NOTICE.

GEORGE ALFRED RAVES, ESQUIRE, of 113 Pitt Street, Sydney, New South Wales, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Honourable Michael Myers, Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales, under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

STAFF.

Major O. H. Mead, D.S.O., N.Z. Staff Corps, having returned to the Dominion after completion of a tour of instruction in England, ceases to be seconded, dated 18th September, 1929, and is appointed Staff Officer-in-Charge, No. 11 Regimental District, Dunedin. Dated 3rd October, 1929.

Captain F. L. Hunt, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the temporary appointment of Staff Officer-in-Charge, No. 11 Regimental District, Dunedin, and retains the appointment of Area Officer, Area 11A, Dunedin. Dated 2nd October, 1929.

Captain G. H. Dykes, the Lancashire Fusiliers, on exchange from the British Army in India, having left New Zealand, relinquishes the appointments of Area Officer, Area 8A, and Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Taranaki Regiment, New Plymouth, and the local rank of Captain. Dated 3rd September, 1929.

Captain E. L. Heywood, the Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge’s Own), on exchange from the British Army in India, having left New Zealand, relinquishes the appointments of Area Officer, Area 9C, and Adjutant, the Nelson-Marlborough Mounted Rifles, Blenheim, and the local rank of Captain. Dated 4th August, 1929.

Wing Commander S. Grant-Dalton, D.S.O., A.F.C., R.A.F. (Retired), is appointed Director of Air Services and Officer Commanding N.Z. Permanent Air Force, with the rank of Wing Commander. Dated 1st October, 1929.

Major L. M. Isitt, N.Z. Permanent Air Force, relinquishes the temporary appointment of Director of Air Services and Officer Commanding N.Z. Permanent Air Force, dated 30th September, 1929, and is appointed Officer Commanding N.Z. Air Force Base, Auckland. Dated 12th October, 1929.

Captain S. Wallingford, N.Z. Permanent Air Force, relinquishes the temporary appointment of Officer Commanding N.Z. Air Force Base, Auckland, and is posted for duty at the N.Z. Air Force Base, Auckland. Dated 11th October, 1929.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant A. V. Jenkins, 19th Medium Battery, to be Captain. Dated 22nd August, 1929.

Lieutenant W. Alexander, 11th Field Battery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 12. Dated 9th October, 1929.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) J. W. Mason is confirmed.

Captain S. W. Josland, from the Otago Regiment, to be Captain, with seniority as from the 14th May, 1928, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 11th October, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant T. W. R. Gibson, 2nd C Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 14th September, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant I. A. Bird, 2nd C Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington West Coast Regiment. Dated 10th October, 1929.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.

Major E. White, M.C., 4th C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 6. Dated 10th October, 1929.

Lieutenant C. A. Voss, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 6. Dated 8th October, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant I. A. Bird, from the Wellington Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 18th September, 1928, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 10th October, 1929.

The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.

Lieutenant W. E. Grant, 4th C Battalion, relinquishes his commission on appointment to a Short Service Commission as Pilot Officer in the Royal Air Force. Dated 27th June, 1929.

The Canterbury Regiment.

Captain A. N. Oakey, M.C., 1st Battalion, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 7th October, 1929.

The Nelson-Marlborough and West Coast Regiment.

Lieutenant R. W. Connor, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Otago Regiment. Dated 9th October, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) R. G. G. Dalglish, from the Southland Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), with seniority as from the 11th October, 1928, and is posted to the 1st C Battalion. Dated 9th October, 1929.
