Warrant vesting the Control of Roads and Portions of Roads
in the Hawke’s Bay County Council, and apportioning the
Cost of Construction, Maintenance, and Reconstruction.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all
other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this
behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct
that the roads and portions of roads lying along the boundary
between the Hawke’s Bay County and the Borough of
Hastings, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall, on and
after the date of the gazetting hereof, be under the control
of the Hawke’s Bay County Council; and I do hereby further
direct that the cost of constructing, or maintaining, or
reconstructing the said roads and portions of roads shall be
borne by the Hawke’s Bay County Council and the Hastings
Borough Council in the following proportions—viz., the
Hawke’s Bay County Council shall bear fifty per centum of
such cost and the Hastings Borough Council shall bear fifty
per centum of such cost, respectively—and I do also further
direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as
aforesaid by the Hastings Borough Council shall be paid
from time to time, in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed,
out of the funds of the said Borough Council, within a period
of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf
of the Hawke’s Bay County Council, and that such payment
shall be made from time to time to the Clerk of the Hawke’s
Bay County Council, for and on behalf of the Hastings
Borough Council.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those roads and portions of roads situated in the Hawke’s
Bay Land District, and lying along the boundary between
the Hawke’s Bay County and the Borough of Hastings as
follows viz:—

Boundary Road commencing at its junction with Pakowhai
Road and terminating at its junction with Nelson Street,
being a distance of 66 chains, more or less.

Portion of Karamu Road commencing at its junction
with Collinge Road, and proceeding thence in a south-
westerly direction for a distance of 8 chains, more or
less.

Collinge Road commencing at its junction with Karamu
Road and continuing for its full length, being a distance of
49 chains, more or less.

Portion of Norton Road commencing at its junction with
Heretaunga–Havelock Road and terminating at its
junction with Copeland Road, being a distance of 54
chains, more or less.

Copeland Road commencing at its junction with Norton
Road and terminating at its junction with Riverslea
Road, being a distance of 41 chains, more or less.

Portion of Riverslea Road commencing at its junction
with Copeland Road and proceeding thence in a south-
westerly direction to its junction with Murdoch Road,
being a distance of 13 chains, more or less.

Murdoch Road commencing at its junction with Riverslea
Road and terminating at its junction with Southland
Road, being a distance of 78 chains, more or less.

Portion of Southland Road commencing at its junction
with Murdoch Road, and proceeding thence in a north-
easterly direction to its junction with Wall Road.

Wall Road commencing at its junction with Southland
Road and terminating at its junction with Maraekakaho
Road, being a distance of 54 chains, more or less.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 76182, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 18th day of October, 1929.

appointed.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority conferred by section 35 of the
Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, the undermen-
tioned person has been appointed a Ranger under and for
the purposes of that Act for the Grey District Acclima-
tization District :—

appointed.
