Confirmation of Appointment in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand Division).

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to confirm the appointment of the undermentioned officer of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand Division) :—
Probationary Surgeon-Lieutenant Herbert Jack Rawson as Surgeon-Lieutenant, R.N.V.R. (N.Z.D.), to date 6th June, 1928.

THE following notice, received form the Chairman, Thames County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

COUNTY OF THAMES.
Result of Poll on the Proposal by the Thames County Council to raise a Special Loan of Eleven Thousand Five Hundred Pounds (£11,500) for the Purpose of installing a Water-supply in the Thames Valley Water-supply District.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Thames Valley Water-supply Special-rating Area, taken on the 5th day of September, 1929, on the proposal to borrow the sum of eleven thousand five hundred pounds (£11,500) for the above work, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 106 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 26.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Glen Eden Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Glen Eden Town District on the proposal to raise a loan of £950 for the purpose of formation and metalling of upper Brandon Road, Waimai Road, and Clayburn Road from Brandon Road to West Coast Road, was taken on the 5th September, 1929. The number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was 122, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 38. I hereby declare the proposal to borrow to have been carried.

DOMAIN IMPROVEMENTS LOAN, ETC., £2,000.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Dannevirke, taken on the 4th day of September, 1929, on the proposal to borrow the sum of two thousand pounds to erect a Domain Grandstand and to effect permanent improvements to the Lower Domain, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 146 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 66.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Borough of One Tree Hill.

PURSUANT to section 131 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, it is hereby notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fifth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, praying that the said area may be constituted a borough under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

PROPOSED BOROUGH OF ONE TREE HILL.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern side of the Great South Road, from its junction with the Auckland-Onehunga Road to Hamlin’s Creek at St. Anne’s Bridge: thence towards the south generally by Hamlin’s Creek and Manukau Harbour to the south-eastern corner of the Borough of Onehunga; thence towards the south-west generally by the Borough of Onehunga to the Auckland-Onehunga Road; and thence towards the west generally by the said Auckland-Onehunga Road to the place of commencement.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XV, Akatarawa Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Mangaroa, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
