1929, the following extraordinary resolution was
passed at a meeting of shareholders of ASSOCIATED MOTORS,
LIMITED :—
“ Whereas, it having been proved to the satisfaction of the
company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue
its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, it is
hereby resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily,

Buildings, Fort Street, Auckland, be and are hereby appointed
Liquidators.”

THE NORTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC-POWER
BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all
other powers it thereunto enabling, the North Canterbury
Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund,
and other charges on a loan of £160,300, authorized to be raised
by the North Canterbury Electric-power Board under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing from
the corporations of the counties of Kowai, Rangiora, and Eyre
the electric mains, lines, equipment, materials, and things
belonging to the said corporations, and now used for supplying
the said counties respectively with electric power and energy ;
and for the purpose of acquiring from the Crown transmission
lines, substations, switch gear, and all accessories belonging
to the Crown within the North Canterbury Electric-power
District and used for supplying electricity to the area in that
district, and altering and improving the same, and carrying out
and paying for the work of extended electrical reticulation,
erecting mains, and providing material and things necessary
or incidental to supplying the power district and its outer
area with electric energy and power, and exercising the powers
conferred on the Board for making advances to consumers,
the purchase of land and (or) buildings, and the erection of
buildings and the purchase of furniture and equipment for
the purposes of the Board, the said North Canterbury Electric-
power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one
half of a penny in the pound on the capital value upon all
rateable property in the whole of the North Canterbury
Electric-power District, and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
shall be payable yearly on the 16th day of August in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
RESOLUTION PLEDGING SPECIAL RATE.
In pursuance of section 20 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1926, the North Canterbury Electric-power Board, for the
purpose of securing the special loan of £160,300, authorized to
be raised by the ratepayers of the North Canterbury Electric-
power District at the poll taken on the 31st day of January,
1928, and providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges
thereon, doth hereby appropriate and pledge all that the
special rate of one-half of a penny in the pound on the capital
value of all rateable property in the whole of the North
Canterbury Electric-power District made and levied by the
said Board for the said purpose on the 24th day of April, 1928.

THE LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Sewerage and Drainage Works Loan, 1929 (£16,500).
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies Loans’ Act, 1926, the
Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £16,500, authorized to be raised
by the Lower Hutt Borough Council under the above-men-
tioned Act for providing certain drainage and sanitary works,
the said Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of 127/675ths of a penny in the pound
sterling upon the rateable value, on the basis of the unim-
proved value, of all rateable property in the Borough of
Lower Hutt, and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of the said loan, and be
payable half-yearly on the 1st day of the months of April
and October in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan
is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true extract from the
minutes of the proceedings of a meeting of the Lower Hutt
Borough Council held on Monday, 9th September, 1929.
