No person shall cast or throw into any stream in which trout exists or has been liberated, or shall allow to flow into, or place near the bank or margin of any such stream, any sawdust or sawmill refuse, lime, sheep-dip, flax-mill refuse, or any other matter or liquid that is noxious, poisonous, or injurious to fish: Provided that nothing herein contained shall extend to prohibit the depositing in such stream of debris from any mining claim.

Save as provided herein or by any other regulations under the said Acts, no person shall take, fish for, catch, or kill in any manner whatever, or have in his possession, any salmon-parr, or smolts, or the ova, young, or fry of any salmon in any stage whatever; and any of the above-named taken by accident or otherwise shall immediately be returned alive into the water from which the same is taken.

No person shall fish for trout without a license; and every person fishing shall, on the demand of any ranger, constable, officer of the said society, or of any person producing a license, produce and show such ranger, officer, constable, or person his license, and the contents of his creel or bag, and the bait used by him for taking, catching, or killing such trout.

Every trout not exceeding 9 in. in length from nose to tip of tail taken or caught by any person shall immediately be returned alive into the water from which the same is taken.

No cross-line fishing, stroke-hauling, wilful foul-hooking, spearing, or any other unsportsmanlike device shall be used for the purpose of taking, catching, or killing trout; nor shall any bait be used with any medicated or chemical preparation whatever.

For the purpose of these regulations the mouth or entrance of every such river or stream shall be deemed to include every outlet of the same and the seashore between such outlets, and shall extend over a radius of 500 yds. from the point or line where the waters of such river or stream meet those of the sea, or of any harbour at low water.

No person shall sell, or expose or offer for sale, trout, or any part thereof.

Any regulation regarding the number or weight of trout which a person may take or catch in any one day or other specified period which has been made by general regulations under the Fisheries Act, 1908, and its amendments or regulations, shall not apply to the said district.

If any person shall be convicted of an offence against these regulations the license (if any) held by the offender shall thereupon become void.

The penalty for the breach of any of these regulations shall not be more than £50.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
FEILDING AND DISTRICT ACCLIMATIZATION SOCIETY.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north by the Kawhatau and Pourangaki Streams from the Rangitikei River to the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence towards the east generally by the summit of that range to the Manawatu Gorge, and by the Manawatu River to the Ruakawa Road; thence towards the south generally by that road which forms the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 455, 454, Block VIII, Kairanga Survey District, to the Palmerston-Ashhurst Road; thence by that road to Stony Creek Road; thence by that road and the railway line to the Oroua River; thence by that river to Awahuri; and thence by the Awahuri-Bulls Road to the Rangitikei River; and towards the north-west generally by the Rangitikei River to the Kawhatau Stream, the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
LICENSE TO FISH.
The Fisheries Act, 1908, and its Amendments.
THE holder of this license [Name in full], of [Address], [Calling or occupation], having this day paid the sum of , is hereby authorized to fish with only one rod and line for trout and other acclimatized fish in every acclimatization district in New Zealand, except in Rotorua Acclimatization District and Taupo waters, from the 1st day of October, 19 , to the 30th day of April, 19 , subject to the said Acts and to the general regulations made thereunder and to the regulations for the time being in force in the Feilding and District Acclimatization District, and to the local regulations for the time being in force in other Acclimatization Districts.

Amending Regulations for Trout Fishing in the Auckland Acclimatization District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of September, 1929.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 70, of the twentieth day of the same month, regulations were made for trout-fishing in the Auckland Acclimatization District and waters thereof:
And whereas it is advisable to amend the hereinbefore-recited regulations, and to make others in lieu thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke clauses three, eight, and twenty-one of the said regulations of the seventeenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and the First Schedule thereto, and doth substitute the following in lieu thereof:—

During the period from the 1st day of October, 1929, to the 30th day of September, 1930, no person shall take trout by any means whatsoever in the tributary of the Waihou known as the Waiomou and Little Waipa Streams and all tributaries thereof, and also from that portion of the Wanganui River between the Matapuna Railway Bridge and the Victory Bridge. It shall also be unlawful during the period from the 1st day of October, 1929, to the 30th day of September, 1932, to take trout by any means whatsoever from the Waimakariri River.

No person shall use any bait or lure other than the natural or artificial fly, or natural or artificial minnow, and any small indigenous fish, insect, grasshopper, beetle, or spider. The use of shellfish, fish ova, koura, or the houhou or matai grub, or of earthworms shall be a breach of the regulations:
Provided that no bait other than natural or artificial fly shall be used for taking fish in the Mangakahu, Mangatangi Rivers, the South Wairoa River, the Maungatawhiri River, Hay’s Creek (otherwise known as Hunua Gorge Creek), Ararimu Creek, the Ongarue River (above its intersection with the Waimiha River), and the Waimiha River:
Provided still further, that no bait other than natural or artificial fly, or natural or artificial minnow, or spoon bait shall be used in taking fish in the Waipa River throughout its course and tributaries thereof, or in the Ongarue River below its intersection with the Waimiha River:
Provided still further, that no bait other than artificial fly shall be used for taking fish in that portion of the Punui River lying between the junction of the Wairaka and Waipara Rivers:
Provided still further, that no person shall fish for trout in any portion of Lake Arapuni with any lure or bait other than natural or artificial fly, artificial minnow, or some form of spoon bait; provided that no spinning fly, lure, or bait other than the artificial fly shall be used from a point 80 chains above the dam down to the spillway:
Provided still further that no person shall fish for trout in any portion of Lake Arapuni wherein artificial fly, artificial minnow, or some form of spoon bait is authorized by these regulations, with any fly, minnow, or spoon bait which is of greater length than 2½ in.
The fine for every breach of this regulation shall not be less than £2 or more than £50.
- No person shall troll from a launch or boat in any portion of Lake Arapuni or in the Waikato River as far south as the junction of the boundary of the Auckland Acclimatization District and the Rotorua Acclimatization District:
Provided that in that portion of Lake Arapuni above a point eighty chains above the dam, it shall be legal to troll from boats propelled by oars only.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland, Auckland, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts, bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Mokau River, and proceeding thence along high-water mark, Tasman Sea, in a northerly direction generally (crossing the mouths of all harbours and rivers by the way) to the Kaipara Harbour entrance to a point midway between Kaipara Heads; thence up the centre of the channels, Kaipara Harbour, leading to the mouth of Oruawhero River; thence by the southern boundaries of the Hobson and Whangarei Acclimatization Districts, hereinafter described, to the
