WAIMAKARIRI RIVER TRUST.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Waimakariri River Improvement Act, 1922, the River Boards Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Waimakariri River Trust proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the diversion of the Waimakariri River and the improvement and flood control of such river, and river-conservation works generally—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Waimakariri River Trust, situate at Commerce Hall, corner of Oxford Terrace and Worcester Street, Christchurch, and is open for inspection (without payment of any fee) by all persons during office hours.
All persons affected by or having any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work, or the taking of the said lands, are required to state forthwith in writing such objections, and forward such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Waimakariri River Trust at its public office, situate as aforesaid. No objection to the amount or payment of compensation in respect of the execution of such work is a well-grounded objection.
SCHEDULE.
All those parcels of land situate in the Waimakariri River Trust District and in the County of Eyre, and situate in Block II of the Christchurch Survey District in the Land District of Canterbury, containing together by admeasurement seventy acres three roods fifteen perches (70 acres 3 roods 15 perches), be the same a little more or less, being part of Rural Sections 2349, 2190, 2347, 4499, 4500, and 5162, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 100, folio 287, and Vol. 397, folio 196, Canterbury Lands Registry: As the same is more particularly delineated in the said plan prepared by Harold Wilson Harris, of Christchurch, Licensed Surveyor, certified to by him on the 15th day of July, 1929, and numbered 1215, and therein coloured green, yellow, pink, grey, and purple.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
The Manawatu Drainage Board Rangiotu Floodgate Loan of £500, 1929.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Manawatu Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Manawatu Drainage Board Rangiotu Floodgate Loan of £500, 1929, authorized to be raised by the Manawatu Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving the outlet at the Rangiotu Floodgate, the said Manawatu Drainage Board hereby makes and levies the special differential rates on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value)—
On lands classified “A” a special rate of one-hundred-and-thirty-five one-thousandths (135/1000ths) of a penny in the pound sterling:
On lands classified as “B” a special rate of eighty-one one-thousandths (81/1000ths) of a penny in the pound sterling:
of all rateable property within the Rangiotu Floodgate Special-rating District, comprising the following area:—
Commencing at junction of Oroua River and Foxton Line, and proceeding in a northerly direction generally along eastern bank of said river to junction with southern boundary of Section A of 3D 1, Aorangi No. 2; thence in an easterly direction by southern boundary of said section; thence in a northerly direction by eastern boundaries of Sections A, B, C, 2 and 1 of 3D 1 and 3B, Aorangi No. 2; thence in a westerly direction by northern boundary of last-named section to junction with Oroua River; thence in a northerly direction by eastern bank of said river to junction with northern boundary of Section I of Aorangi No. 2; thence in an easterly direction by said boundary of said section to junction with eastern
