THE SILVERDALE FRUIT AND POULTRY CO., LTD.
IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, and in the matter of the SILVERDALE FRUIT AND POULTRY CO., LTD., a Private Company incorporated under the above Act.
NOTICE is hereby given that by a minute dated 24th July, 1929, the following resolution was passed :—
“That the company be wound up voluntarily forthwith, and that FREDERIC EDWARD TWYFORD, of the firm of Hicks, Ainger, and Twyford, Professional Accountants, Christchurch, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator.
All claims against the above company must be made to P.O. Box 707, Christchurch, on or before the 14th day of August, 1929, otherwise they may be excluded from any distribution of the assets.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR SPECIAL LOAN OF £7,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that, behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £7,000, authorized to be raised by the Napier Borough Council by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 23rd day of April, 1929, under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of—
Rounding or splaying off the corners of streets at the corners specified in the voting-paper, and in connection therewith doing the following works, acts, and things : Acquiring by purchase or otherwise the necessary pieces of land ; removing, re-erecting, and reinstating shops, buildings, and fences ; straightening the approaches to any of such corners ; removing and cutting away banks and trees ; constructing retaining-walls where necessary ; paying compensation where shops or buildings are interfered with ; paying such other compensation as may be payable for acquiring, interfering with, or damaging rights or property ; removing and re-erecting telegraph and electric-light poles and wiring ; altering storm-water channelling and pits, and forming and metalling new portions of roadways and footpaths ; paying survey and legal expenses ; generally doing such other works, acts, and things as may be advisable or expedient for making the said corners safe for vehicular and pedestrian traffic ;
the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seventeen two-hundredths (17/200ths) of a penny in the pound (£) upon all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the Borough of Napier, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Napier Borough Council at a duly constituted meeting held on the 24th day of June, 1929.

“That this company be wound up voluntarily, and that LESLIE HORTON SMART, of Carterton, Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator.”

“That this company be wound up voluntarily, and that ANDREW FLETCHER, of Wellington, Contractor, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator.”

UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION PASSED AT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL HELD ON THE 10TH DAY OF JUNE, 1929, AND CONFIRMED AT A MEETING OF THE COUNCIL HELD ON THE 22ND JULY, 1929.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Upper Hutt Borough Council Bridge Loan of £475 (1929), authorized to be raised by the Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of paying the Council’s proportion of the cost of the erection of a concrete bridge over the Hutt River, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twentieth (1/20th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Upper Hutt, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution, authorizing the levying of a special rate of one-twentieth (1/20th) of a penny in the pound for the purpose of meeting the payment of interest and sinking-fund charges in connection with a special loan of £475 for the purpose hereinbefore mentioned was duly passed at a special meeting of the Borough Council held on the 10th day of June, 1929, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 22nd day of July, 1929,
