laying-out and development of Morningside Reserve, including contingencies, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seventeen two-hundredths (17/200ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Mount Albert; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the said loan is fully paid off.

I, Harry Utting, Town Clerk and Treasurer of the Mount Albert Borough Council, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Mount Albert Borough Council at a meeting held on 25th June, 1929.

APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Blacks.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned, Annie Arnal Scott, of Omakau, Farmer, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 4.30 p.m., 16/7/29.

Date and number of miner’s right: 26/6/29; No. 17897.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points: Commencing at a point in Spottis Creek about 5 yds. above the mouth of the gorge in Section 55, Block I, Tiger Hill District; thence running for a distance of half a mile in a southerly direction through the freehold land of Lena Stafford to the commencement of the old flume; thence in a flume of 2 chains across the creek, and terminating on the land of the applicant; the whole being the abandoned course of the old Mill-race.

Length and intended course of race: 42 chains.

Points of intake: Spottis Creek, as above.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Already constructed.

Mean depth and breadth: 1 ft. 6 ins. by 1 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: One.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Domestic and irrigation.

Proposed term of license: Twenty-one years.

COUNTY OF HAURAKI PLAINS.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hauraki Plains County Council doth hereby resolve as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking-fund and other charges on a loan of £2,400, authorized to be raised by the Hauraki Plains County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of installing water-mains and service connections in the Waitakaruru Water-supply District, the said Hauraki Plains County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of threepence (3d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the said Waitakaruru Water-supply District, the boundaries of which are as follows:—

Commencing at a point on the Waitakaruru–Pipiroa Road where it intersects the Waitakaruru–Maukoro Canal; thence southwards along the right bank of the said canal to the boundary of Section 31, Block IV, Piako Survey District; thence in an easterly direction to the north-eastern corner of Section 33; thence in a southerly direction to the south-eastern corner of Section 35; thence westward along the southern boundaries of Sections 35 and 36 to the said Waitakaruru–Maukoro Canal, and across the said canal to its left bank, and following its left bank southward to the southern boundary of Section 30; thence following the southern and western boundaries of Section 30 and the western boundaries of Sections 29, 28, 27, 26, 25, 24, 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 10; thence in an easterly direction along the southern side of the Waitakaruru–Pipiroa Road to the point of commencement.

And that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable on the first days of March and September in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at my office, Broadway, Stratford, at 1.30 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 20th August, 1929, for the purpose of receiving an account of the winding-up and disposal of the assets of the company, and hearing any explanation thereof that may be given.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special general meeting of the above-named club, held at the Clubhouse, Auckland, on the 20th day of May, 1929, the following special resolution was passed, viz:—

“That the Junior Club (Incorporated) be wound up voluntarily.”

And at a subsequent special general meeting of the said club, held at the Clubhouse aforesaid on the 12th July, 1929, the said resolution was duly confirmed, and Mr. W. W. King, Yorkshire House, Shortland Street, Solicitor, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of winding up the club.
