Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 13th July, 1929.
THE following notice received from the Chairman, Otorohanga Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

TOWN HALL LOAN, 1929.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Otorohanga Town Board, taken on the 26th day of April, 1929, on the proposal of the Otorohanga Town Board to borrow the sum of one thousand seven hundred pounds (£1,700) for additions to and alterations of the Town Hall at Otorohanga, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 24; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 4.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve, under section 6 (a), Defence Act, 1909, that the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 43, dated 23rd June, 1927, relative to the organization of the Regiment of New Zealand Artillery, be amended as follows:—
Delete “Northern Field Artillery Group” and detail of Group, and substitute the following:—
“1st Field Brigade, with headquarters at Auckland.”

Prohibition of Issue of Money-order and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for W. B. Healy, Hobart.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Grocers’ and (2) Drapers’ Shops within the Borough of Carterton.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me from the occupiers of shops in each of the trades of (1) grocer, and (2) draper, within the Borough of Carterton, pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22:
And whereas I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the said trades within the said borough:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I do hereby direct that on and after the 5th day of August, 1929, all the shops in each of the said trades within the said borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On four days of the week at 5.30 p.m. and on one day of the week at 8.30 p.m. with the following exception—from the 9th day of October in each year to the 30th day of March in the next succeeding year (both days inclusive) the closing-hour on one day of the week shall be 9 p.m. in lieu of 8.30 p.m.
The notice dated the 9th May, 1906, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 10th May, 1906, fixing closing-hours of certain shops in the Borough of Carterton, and the notice dated the 11th January, 1911, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th January, 1911, fixing closing-hours of clothiers’, mercers’, milliners’, ironmongers’, drapers’, grocers’, stationers’, and boot shops, in the Borough of Carterton, shall be and are hereby cancelled in so far as they relate to the shops affected by this notice, as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.
